Kyrios Turbocharged October 26, 2011 Share October 26, 2011 My days as a student time was all paper and pencils, jotterbooks and photocopier. No such fanciful things such as tablets and laptops and charging of handphones.
Alant 1st Gear October 26, 2011 Share October 26, 2011 I don't find anything wrong with sealed up power point. Just charge your battery full or bring a spare one before going to the library if all the power point are sealed.
Sosaria Twincharged October 26, 2011 Share October 26, 2011 I notice that people using smartphones, especially iPhones, need to charge them all the time. Go everywhere also look for power socket. I think the electricity bill for the library look quite shocking hence they lock up the sockets. Actually it's a smart idea to have some coin-operated gadget... i.e. "sell" the electricity and make a profit. Seriously, the public library is missing out. Selling the electricity earns them spare cash, and also minimises abuse.

No such fanciful things such as tablets and laptops and charging of handphones. My days as a student, have to use slide rule. No calculator was available. But who want to learn to use slide rule anymore? Unless no more electrical power is available.

Jpcc Clutched October 26, 2011 Share October 26, 2011 unlike most gahment run civil service, i think nlb is one of the best/ well managed stat board, or whatever board u call it. I think some users had been abusing the goodwill of nlb. Sealing up the power sockets is kind of a typical gahment style - pragmatic, immediate, effective. But I do think charging them via coin slot/transitlink is a reasonable scheme, similar to photocopy services in nlb.
SimonTan 2nd Gear October 26, 2011 Share October 26, 2011 Seal up so that after three hours battery flat, have to go home. If not the entire coffee bean or library will be full of cheap skate hoggers. Maybe someone will bring a backpack full of dry cells, and charge the battery at the library! Nothing is free.
