Handheld speed camera

I was cruising on ECP about 12am at night and saw a TP beside his bike holding a handheld like camera facing oncoming traffic. Never knew there was a speed camera which is able to cap speed on oncoming traffic. Is this some sort of new toy or am I just behind time lol

I saw two blue uniform TP bike at the exit between siglap and bedok. Are they the one u saw?

Its a laser based speed measurement tool.

The first few months after they bought their laser speed camera(can capture the driver face), they stationed themselves at ground level, bustops and expressway bushes.

I guess after some time, they realized its not a good position as the bushes got mosaquitos and insects, and also many drivers not satisfied to be caught stealthily.

So now they stand on overhead bridge.

Yesterday night they were stationed outside Yishun Dam with the handheld, don't know if I got kena or not..

They can select one of these 3 modes

 

1) Both direction

 

2) Away

 

3) Approach

 

Heard from suppliers that they bought more speed guns recently.

read from internet that these device need to sit on tripod in terms to get an accurate result? Does it means that if they use only hand to operate, we can always appeal for its accuracy?

Tripod only for prolong usage and fitted with camera.

 

Hold too long their hands all tired.

 

I heard they have 30+ and buying another 20+.

Some may be fitted to police cars front and rear windscreen

Radar or the latest laser gun-- I am not sure.

Ya was wonder if at night they are ale to capture number plate without flash. Our headlight should be able to blind out camera. But not too sure on this.

Not sure about the type used in Singapore, but the Hong Kong police frequently carry out anti-speeding operations at night, both with handheld laser guns and tripod-mounted radars or cameras. Therefore, never assume that the speed readings or number plate cannot be picked up at night.

I met this supplier, he said the unit came with 2 sensors, one wired to front and the other to the rear of wind screen.

 

And the worst is that, the police car need not stop. They can scan while police car is moving.

 

 

if kena the unmark car fitted with this speed camera, "Eat Luck" men.

how possible?? does the police car speed less off/add-on the victim's speed?

These are not the older days analog punter meters.

 

it's laser technology, detection is in nano seconds.

 

I tried it. readings are on the screen before I could release the trigger.

 

Anyway I am buying the one sensor speed camera for office use.

 

To catch speedsters who drive above 30km/h.... yes that's 30km/h limit
