Nothing wrong with the casino explanation. Not that they are not paying the winning, just that the amount shown is incorrect. If the top price is a car and the max cash payout is $50,000, than hitting the jackpot is just the car. Their offer to buy back the car will definitely be better then if she would claim the prize and than resell. Why do they need to attract negative press when hundreds of thousands are won and loss on every table everyday?

Crazy, I would say pay to her. This is a stupid way to save money. This money can turn into advertisement if they use it wisely. Instead of newspaper say "woman sue casino for denying her winning" to "Woman wins 400k in MBS". Which one sounds better? Real stupid I would say.

Bear in mind that every machine...there is a label stating ...''Machine malfunction void all play''......if they can prove the machine is malfunctioning...that woman could get zero cent.....

If Casino can use jackpot malfunction as an excuse not to pay the winner what she has won, can those who had used the same jackpot before the winner ask for refund since the jackpot was not functioning properly?

simply put la.

between the previous winner and her, the time not long enough.

if on high court case, if the woman lose, she will only probably get half of the 250k for the cost of the lawsuit

New from InSing.com

http://news.insing.com/tabloid/woman-wins-...out/id-7de93e00

Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino is refusing to pay a woman her jackpot winnings of more than $410,000.

Mdm Zhu Yun Ping (50, hawker) had visited the casino with some foreign friends and her store helpers at about 5am on this Tuesday, 18 October.

She described what happened to reporters, "I was playing on this jackpot machine until 6am and my stored value card had already accumulated about $800 in winnings. Suddenly, I struck the Bonus Cash jackpot of $416,742.11."

At the time, Mdm Zhu was confused with what happened until a bystander explained to her that she had struck a jackpot prize. Many other casino patrons also came up to her to congratulate her on the win.

She continued, "Soon after, the manager of the casino came up to me and told me that the jackpot machine had malfunctioned. The manager explained to me that the machine's top prize is a car, and that its highest cash payout is only $50,000, so I could not have struck that Bonus Cash prize. The manager also explained that I could get $258,962 if I decide to sell the car back to the dealer."

Mdm Zhu refused to settle with the manager's explanation and insisted that she was entitled to her win, which the jackpot machine clearly displayed.

At that time, a casino patron had also stepped forward to help her by taking a photo of the displayed cash prize as evidence. The man was however, stopped by casino staff who warned him that photo-taking is not allowed in the casino. The staff then asked the man to hand over his phone and indicated that they will be deleting the photo. The man was then escorted out of the casino.

Mdm Zhu has lodged a complaint with the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore, which is currently investigating the case. The police have also explained to her the forms of legal action she can take.

If you are the winner in this case, will you accept the cash price of $$258,962 by selling back the car to the casino or you die die want to claim the Cash jackpot of $416,742.11?

Can get manager to furnish written confirmation that the jackpot machine did malfunctioned? If yes, all who lost at that jackpot machine on that day, can try claim compensation from casino? Now I have clearer idea, why I have yet to patronise that casino.
