At Last ........ Completion of CTE Widening

Its had been a nightmare for the past 4+ years driving up and down CTE daily ....... [sweatdrop]

The Central Expressway had been widen to 4 lanes and the last of the barricades had been removed for a smooth flow of traffics both ways. Some barreicades were left just above Braddell Road flyover to prevent vehicles turning into another slip road leading to 'don't know where' (still a puzzle to me) as the side road cuts into some Potong Pasir area & St Andrew's Boys Sec to PIE. But these barricades does not hinder the smooth flow of traffic.

With the widening of CTE, traffic still heavy during peak hours ... [:(][:(]

I will try to avoid Thomson & Marymount areas during constructions period if necessary ... [sweatdrop]

Shouldnt the widening be completed years ago? what happened to all the clever boys in gahmen who are supposed to forecast, coordinate, plan ahead instead of starting building the toilet when there's a stomach ache.......... sgp is a tiny island and its not that difficult to do some projections and plan in anticipations.

ok, its better late than never, as in third world countires :D

Can't they just put a $10 ERP or double white lines on both direction exits CTE>PIE (Changi)? This is the source of congestion, with vehicles cutting queue or last min changing lanes to enter to PIE (Changi).. LTA don't know all these??

PIE to undergo widening at the PIE to BKE area

That one is not due to PIE not wide enough.. that area jam because alot of fu*kers don't keep left early when they want to go on BKE, all cut in last minute.. [:|] [:|] slowing down lane 1 and 2.. similar situation at the Northbound PIE/KJE junction..

LTA is blind to many things.

Why not install red/white short vertical posts instead of just double-lines to seperate and prevent last minute cutting into the slip road entering PIE Changi? Put a camera also.

Good news. But if they are far sighted, they should make it double deck (one ground, one highway) like some other countries.

or if peak hour traffic jam is on only one direction, provide flexible lanes to suit the direction of the heavy traffic eg office- or home-bound traffic in different directions in morning/evening peak hours.

in many other countries, say on a 4-lane (both direction) e'way, lane 1 of either direction (next to the centre-line of the entire e'way, are made convertible in either direction. Normal traffic: 4 lanes each for office- and home-bound; morning peak hours: 5 lanes for office-bound, 3 lanes in the opposite direction; evening peak hours: reverse the morning peak hour arrangement.

In fact, in the 70-80s, the Nicall Highway adopted this system and it seemed to work well.

Maybe our Lau Liu thinks that if there is no jam during peak hour, then his ministry unable to cut the growth to 0.5% and lta could not able to reap the billion in COE .....[:p]

No point, still as jam as ever.

next thing we know that the growth could further cut to 0.1% reason being that with the expressways widen, there is still peak jam ...... [sweatdrop][:p]

be glad that they're not looking at -ve growth (which is probably the only method to REDUCE the no of cars on the road)
