For Latio, they are using Iridium Tough, this type of plug last you 100k before you need to replace. Require more labour to replace so fees occur. they should be using Original Genuine plug , 22401-ED71B Those around $80 is normal Iridium power. Example many car using Denso IK16. Just buy the spark plug wrench from Autobac about $12. Then just buy copper plugs $10-$15 or platinum $30-$40 or Irridium $70-$100 and change yourself. For people who change copper plugs every 10k or irridium every 40k, please let me know which company plugs you are using, I also want to buy some shares in that company. So many mech are under trained and don't know what they are doing. Thats why this kind of job shouldn't leave to a mech to do! To repair cross treading is really expensive. No only that! When I change my coolent, the mech didn't even remove the coolent in the reservoir tank. Old coolent green while new coolent red so very easy to tell no change. My friends car fix new hifi, the mech fixed his power window button upside down. So now he press down to make it go up! I didn't know Latio designed so bad. I always thot japs were the best in designing easy access. I guess I was wrong. So most Latio owners take their cars to workshop to change spark plugs? Workshop owners must be happy. Latio uses plugs that last 100k n they cost me $110 to buy from workshop. Another $40 for labour. So total cost for me is $150. Not only are the plugs expensive, it is also very difficult to change the plugs. You need to remove the intake manifold to be able to change the spark plugs. Thats why Latio have to use Long life spark plugs. Using copper plugs and change every 6 months is just not practical. This is also the case for Honda Fit. Tigershark1976 Turbocharged October 19, 2011 Share October 19, 2011 In between the 5 years, it will be best clean and remove the built up carbon and do regapping so that yr plugs will still perform as good as new fully agree...
