D3badge 6th Gear April 22, 2013 Share April 22, 2013 Recommend me which's the better rubber, S001 or CSC5 I travel to KL frequently doing 160km/hr and above I prefer a grippy rubber and can does above avg wet condition Country of made secondary for me Thanks I am using CSC5 19/35/245 reason, base on tirerack in general conti and michelin are lighter tires. Bridgestone base on old reseach tend to be heavier.

Teoz Neutral Newbie April 26, 2013 Share April 26, 2013 Hi ppl, I'm checking out feedback on behalf of my Dad (who is not the most forum-literate..). Your advice/ comments will be much appreciated.. tqs. My Dad changed a set of CSC 5 with Stamford Tyres @ S$832 on 5 Dec 2012. In mid Jan 2013 under very-average speed driving, the left-front tyre's inner sidewall got punctured by a stone or something whilst driving. During this tyre replacement in Jan, Dad feedback his concern about the tyre quality and the branch manager offered to reimburse payment for this replacement. So after he made payment to Stamford Tyres, the branch manager handed S$208 in cash to my Dad saying they will cover out of their own pockets. (?) And in mid Feb again under very-average speed driving, another tyre's outer sidewall got punctured. Last straw was just couple days ago on 24 Apr.. one tyre's sidewall got punctured (again). My Dad has been an avid driver for 40+ years and this is the first time he encounters something like this - 3 tyres punctured within 4-5 months. Stamford Tyre's branch manager told him there's nothing much he (the manager) could do and told my Dad to write to his higher management. I don't know where the writing will lead to, but in all fairness to the dealer and supplier.. before getting there I thought some advice from your point of views may help. Who knows, my Dad could be the problematic driver and not the tyres. Thank you..

Kangadrool Supersonic April 26, 2013 Share April 26, 2013 (edited) Low profile is damn easy to get punctured. Hitting on stones, potholes, even dropped wooden plank, dunnage and cargo lashing gears on the roads will cause flat tyres. With deteriorating road conditions and many dropped objects on the roads, better stick to higher profile tyres. I only see low profile tyres popular in Singapore with city traffic conditions , but hardly see people on low profile in other countries with high speed motorways. MarkHotchner Clutched January 11, 2019 Share January 11, 2019 recently bought a set of used Bridgestone tires. Can't be more satisfied by a price/quality combo. ↡ Advertisement
