Very clearly from this video footage he is at fault. Whoever think police should wait for him to shoot first should join the police and be assigned to do this job.

why don't the "suspect" just lie down on the floor with their hand on the back as instructed by the police officer?

i see many videos on youtube, the suspect even has no gun with them keep challenging the police officers

like walking away from them, walking toward them and keep yelling "i ain't do nothing"

when a suspect challenge police officers ... with or without guns ... police officer sure shoot first talk later right?

i am not referring to this particular case if the suspect has TBI or something

I remember watching a social experiment video whereby they tried to justify how blacks are being targeted by law enforcement officers. In the experiment, they have a black and a white male with assault rifle sling across the body walking down the street.

 

The white male was approach by police and questioned nicely why he is walking with an assault rifle on the street. The black male was swarmed by police squad cars, all the police officers were out with their weapons pointing at him and ordering him not to move, drop his weapon, lie down etc... 

 

Yes the blacks are being targeted but the underlying point is that, if you have a license to carry weapons and if you have no ill intention, there is nothing to worry about. You comply with police orders nothing extraordinarily will happen. 

 

In that video, the black male fully complied with police orders, raised his hands, lie down on the ground and allowed the police to un-clip the gun sling and remove the rifle. After that, he was cuffed and questioned.

 

Nobody got killed. Nobody was shot at. 

 

It is flesh vs bullets. It doesn't take a scientist to figure out which one will win. Even if your own race is being targeted, it is foolish to challenge the police in such situation.

Pls watch that video with just a pinch of salt cos it is misleading in the 1st place. Yes, a person with license to hold a firearm indeed can have the firearm with him or her but not like the way the video is showing. I do agree the different in humane treatment thou but from the start, carrying a firearm this way is not legally correct. It freaks out people too.

 

The firearms be it a handgun or long arm must be kept out of view. There are a few guidelines like conceal carry etc, long arms should be kept in cases preferably etc. Carrying it this way like the video invites trouble. Even hoisted on waist level, it must be kept out of view with a shirt tucked out or a jacket over it.

 

If revealed intentionally, it can or will be regarded as a form of intimidation. Take for eg of a misunderstanding road incident, one party reveals his firearm on his waist by putting his hand on his waist (imagine yaya-papaya) tucking aside his jacket. This action alone already can be deemed as an offence.

 

True the gun laws are lax, too lax but there are quite many users who carry the firearms responsibly as well.

again ... as a layman when you take subway at night in NY ... are you scare if there is a black or white person in the same carriage ... just saying

This is wrong in so many levels. I believe there are many cops out there just like this prick. Just watch out. Thank God there's video cameras all around, else they could have easily accuse the nurse or something she didn't do and made her arrest seems plausible.

He's been put on administrative leave. This policeman also quite stupid.
