Hi bros, need to check with you on the above mentioned topic and parking on the white parking lot with a $4 parking coupon after midnight on a Sunday morning. Is this considered a parking offence?

The reason I am asking this is that last night, I parked at a friend's place in Hougang at 12.30am in a full white parking lot and placed a $4 night parking coupon on my dashboard. The next morning I saw a summon ticket stating that I did not park with a valid season parking ticket, timed at 4.30am.

Need to check with you guys if this is a valid offence or the Fatimah had incorrectly slap an invalid fine on me. If the latter is true, can I appeal for this case?

You need to check the sign board. Some car park is strictly for season parking only after 10:30pm. The white lot means visitor could park before the over night parking starts.

best is to provide the car park info.

can retrieve the car park info from hdb site on parking.

anyway one of the car park i park the other i saw no night parking online, the lots are all white too.

so those with night n restricted parking then likely u will see the red lots.

Another question.

How would we tear the $4 worth of coupons?

Assuming I start at 10:30pm sharp.

1) tear 4 $1 coupons starting at 10:30pm, 11:30pm, 12:30an(next day date), 1:30am?

2) tear 4 $1 coupons all four same starting at 10:30pm?

When the carpark state it has night parking.

Does it mean after 10:30pm, must diedie tear a $4 worth of coupons even though one only want to do a 2 hour quickie with GF?

Say I reach carpark at 4:30am, can I just tear 2 $1 coupons, to fark for 2 hours from 4:30am to 6:30am?

Allowed?

Hi Simon, tear coupon as per usual. But tear to a maximum of 4 dollars. Eg, 1 hr - 1 dollar, 2 hr- 2 dollars, 4 hr -4 dollars, 8 hours(b4 730am) -4 dollars. Cheers

Most likely at open air car park rite? In HG, some car parks for season parking (regardless of white or red lots) starts fm 7pm.

But u have 'perfect' excuse for appeal. Just say u park white lot and not season lot so why kenna summon? If 1st time sure wl get waiver.

The carpark was HG37surface, I had called them up and they said that certain carparks do not allow night parking even if it is a white lot. This is something new to me as I always thought that it only applies to red or red/white lots. So I appealed and luckily they are willing to waive the $50 fine since this is the first time I kena.... The rules keep changing, how to catch up...

Thanks to everyone for replying :)

They do put up signs to inform motorists, usually a red color sign.

Not all HDB car parks have Night Parking facilities.

When entering any HDB car parks, it is best to look at the signboard at the entrance to see if any night parking available. Recently, there are so many changes until [dizzy] . Some car parks are painted completely in 'red' which is for those monthly paid parking only. Some 'red' & 'white' can park from 7am to 7pm only for coupon parking and some 'yellow' one (mostly in CBD areas) half hour parking is $1/- ..... [:(]
