inlinesix Hypersonic October 9, 2011 Share October 9, 2011 Somehow BMW strength is in their 6 in line. Silky smooth and very nice sounding. 4 pot turbo will probably give better torque and fuel consumption. BMW will sell the 4 pot turbo at 6-in-line price. IMHO not so worthy. If that's the case, juz buy 535 lor. ↡ Advertisement
Proton_neutron 1st Gear October 9, 2011 Share October 9, 2011 For 5-Series, can get 535i from PI at 523i PML Base price.... $235k.... 520i will sell for slightly cheaper than the 523i. Don't expect a much reduction in prices, since the 520i was meant to replace the 523i [the performace figures says it all]. But people will still want a true, in-line 6 cyl BMW, so they'll still go for the 523i. 520i from PI available for booking now from $189k. Currently PI 523i going from $198k. Fourth 2nd Gear October 9, 2011 Share October 9, 2011 Btw 523 to compare with XF. XFS is different cat. The paddleshifts are great to use too. It is gives good value considering that it closes on XFR with less $170k price. It is not the best in XF range, but it is the best value considering the price. Cannot a performance jag to be cheap right?

KARTer 2nd Gear October 27, 2011 Share October 27, 2011 Hello friends, it is time for me to change as there is uncertainity around Mazda and COE here. Car is getting 2 years now. Since there is no obvious Japanese car for me this time (driven CRV, Cefiro earlier), thinking of exploring Conti for a change (my wife is holding me back from those contis). But, sort of convincing her. My choice is in the order they are appearing in the Poll. Thanks for taking the poll. Each of the 3 models has its own strengths and weaknesses. Personally I would pick the Jag as the other two are too 'common', you throw a coke can in a car park, sure to hit a merc/beemer, but not the CAT!!! Other worthy contenders: Lexus and Audi?? True, I am just waiting for Jaguar to offer me a better Trade-in and discounts. The dealine for them is this Friday, otherwise I sign the dotted line on Sat for 523i. PM is much better in negotiations. What really stops me buying 523i is it is like our "national car". I feel 523i is another Altis on our roads. Hmmmmm, no other choice if Jaguar plays smarter. I wanted to stop my list to top 3. No Lexus or Audi or those B&B conti makes!

Ya, I made that very clear to them and they know that I have an attractive offer from PM. I guess that the recent increase of 30k in listed price makes them passive. Otherwise I heard that Jaguar is quite good in negotiations. Less than 24 hours to go.......
