Kiss Taxi

Kiss taxi is one of the worse... they'll claim for every damn thing they can think off. repairs, loss of income, injury etc.

I `kissed' a minivan ferrying school children before, my car, then a MX5 did not suffer any knocks, just the number plate slightly cracked and they bus driver ended up claiming my insurance $7k for loss of income, changing the bumper and the rear-door. Needless to say, my insurance premiums went up skyhigh the next year

Neutral Newbie

I don't understand why must we pay for his loss of income. He jolly well can go taxi company and drive another taxi out what is the issue? They are BS and loser.

now anyone want to take a taxi (be it old or new) at least 6 mth wait...

u think this driver can go back to company then get another taxi in a day?

anyway pay him the loss income better then report... once report, the company will take 2-3 day or more to repair... then loss income also added in the claim to your insurance... end up you will pay more money out to insurance company when u renew (skyhigh), paying few hundred is better then lose few Ks to the insurance company!

can play punk it you dare... but if police found out (by witness or video cam) u will in bigger problem!!!

the taxi is rented. so if he cant drive, no income quite logical. no income = loss income as he has to foot the taxi rental fee.

frankly i rather pay him in private than bringing up to insurance and ruin my NCD.

If the cab driver never report the accident, good for you. You can deny and refuse to pay anything since cab supposed to report accident in order to claim. Then the cab driver LL.

Since they like to play punk, we can play punk too.

Hi All,

I kissed a Taxi this morning. No damage on my car but a slight line dent on his car. Very minor. Paint still intact. We agreed to settle privately. We exchanged contact and left.

Do I need to report anything? What should I do next?

Verbal is useless ..... you need "Black" and "white" ..... even if the amount is small.... You dont want to see the TD coming back to claim for lost of income, injuries etc etc.... better be kiasu, kiasee ..... especially with TD .....

Good Luck .....

Actually since there isn't any pictures or proof, i think just leave it as it is. unless you told him you want to compensate him a particular amount.

if it is to settle privately, need not report.

there are two usual ways to settle it privately.

one way is to pay him a reasonable amount and end of story.

another way is to send his taxi to your WS and you pay for the repair cost.

there is no photo to see how bad is the damage.

however, you mentioned that it is only a slight line dent.

for that, the patching and respray will be hovering about $180, really depends on how bad the damage is.

send me a priv msg if you need a WS for that.
