i dont see it as actually critical, in the sense where a mistake made can lose the company millions and your job.

It's generally found that those in private sector who go into teaching tend to like the teaching job and stay on. I think it's just a matter of comparison.

 

Those who join teaching fresh out from school tend to quit after serving bond because they don't know how to handle stress and situations, and prioritise their duties, time management... For those from private sector, having a dedicated block of holiday time and public holidays without being on-call is heavenly! And mistakes don't cost lives or harm others... great!

 

Your numbered list of duties, you got to love doing some of it and see the bright side of it, else sure cannot tahan for long... e.g. ECA is enjoyable if you like interaction with students outside classroom environment. Dealing with parents is also an eye-opener, and can learn something about lives that are sometimes so different from your own, especially those with family problems, hard life, BGR, divorced parents, etc. etc. Takes us out of the "ivory tower" and see the real picture

hehe, i always remember during school last time, they assign teachers who aren't interested in basketball to manage basketball ECA.....that's why some of the teachers find it such a chore with ECA.
