Big lorry driver is dangerous.

Mercy/mercy. I am among those LTA/AAS invited for interview on our recommendations from safer heavy vehicle drivers.

But too bad all insurance companies do that.... make and model of car equals base premium... [shakehead]

I wish they give at least 60% to 90% NCD for manual transmission (got a fraction of accidents count). [:p]

In Singapore context, a gracious driver who gives away to the car in front, will be honked and regarded as a bad driver by the car behind. [laugh] [laugh]

[confused] In my years of driving here and outstation, it has not yet happened. Can share with us who honked at who?

they are not quoted based on make and model la.

age and profile also helps.

my wrx, if i put myself as main named driver: i pay 8k

if i put myself as Secondary named driver with main driver under my grandfather, its around 3.5k.

so its not only about make what.

if not, my grandfather would be paying the same price as if it were to be put under my name.

THat is because your grandfather got no accident claim. If he should make an accident claim, the Insurer surely say he is too old to be safe driver: no further renewal of policy with them upon expiry. Othe Insurers may surcharge him.

assuming your grandfather is more than 80 years old, it will be kinda cool looking at your grandfather drive a WRX [laugh]

[thumbsup] I like the way you put it. If above age 90, shall we salute, too? [laugh]

Except for trucks/lorries.

With only less than 5% of the cars on manual transmission, it's not a surprise.

agree

any car i drive is dangerous...

LOL

even slow cars are dangerous..

drivers who are too safe also dangerous..

I believe some cars do have better road adhesion than others. Some cars come with better braking distance than others (weight distribution matters). Some cars come with better drivers than others (manual transmission)...

is it true that honda's insurance is always more expensive compare to other jap cars?

I believe that is still the number one brand around all these years. Surprisingly their sales are pretty good too. Many buyers like such cars.

what in heaven's name... met two cars driven by women that both do crazy things today... i don't want to stereotype any cars or sex, but just stating the facts here.

1st woman encounter, nissan march, near commonwealth area, did a "super" filter from 3rd lane to turn right at 1st lane at the very last minute near the junction, sticking her butt out into the 2nd lane, head facing the divider line, and just stop there, waiting behind 2 cars at 1st lane. I was at 2nd lane and jammed brake. The car behind me almost got the shock of his life....

2nd encounter, woman driving Renault Koleos, orchard area, i signal to filter left for quite a while and was waiting coz of traffic, a car on the left moved off quite far away, woman's renault behind that car is not moving and there was about 5 cars length between her car and the one in front. I slowly filtered in, manage to straighten my car and got into the traffic flow. Suddenly women which is still about two cars length behind me start horning. I looked at my side mirrors, saw no other cars around me doing any funny things. She kept horning while still behind me, i suppose she is unhappy i got in front of her. Does it really hurt the egos to let someone filter into your lane if you not moving and he need to turn left later? or maybe girl drivers tend to get "horny" sometimes? [hur]

You too handsome. Women distracted. Your fault. Penalty?... (Just kidding this time)

I think road hoggers and those who dont signal piss me off even more. and those who dont keep into their freaking lanes wesp during a S-turn. love to "convinently" filter into others lane w/o even looking @ their blind spots.

after driving for just less than a year, I noticed that new drivers could be very dangerous, no offence :D

I have got the chances to sit inside a car driven by driver who just got the license for a month or so, really really scary. Exit high way from left through slip road, and then enter the main road, and forget to look at the traffic from right, lucky the fast coming car's driver is alert and avoid the accident just in time...

I started to drive 2 months after I got my license, and in the first few days, I consider myself a very dangerous driver also. Sometime can hesitate in when driving, especially at the junction. But getting better now [cool]
