Next time when you see any Honda Civic cars approaching you just give way lor. They are meant for fast moving machine.

WRONG. Do not panic. Stay clam and drive as per normal. They rear-end you, they pay. If you serve aside and hit vehicle besides you in your panic, you pay. You may benefit from refresher driving lessons if you used to panic.

Some drivers displaying certain characteristics (good or bad) may tend to prefer a certain car model vs others. It's all about probability, not always stereotyping. Insurance companies also makes use of this to make money.

For instance, a driver who loves racing is more likely to buy a Subaru WRX as compared to Honda Odyssey [:p]

Are Sirion/Myvi included?

Every cars made & model are potential killers .... [knife]

Its the one behind the wheel thats makes it dangerous ... [rifle]

The following are some of the causes :-

a) whether the driver is able to control the vehicle when come to any emergency situation,

b) did the owner maintain his/her vehcle regularly like tyres pressure or bald tyres, brakes, steering, brake fluid or pump.... etc,

c) did driver get enough driving experience through courses like defensive driving,

d) did the driver get enough sleep before he/she hit the roads,

e) did he/she drinks (alcohol) before he/she hits the roads,

f) did the driver know the roads he/she is travelling before driving above the speed limit,

g) did he/she using the handphone while driving,

h) did he/she is in proper mindset before he/she hits the road (like: stress, work pressure, not in the state of mind when rushing to the aid of someone dearly),

....... etc.... I can still name a few more and it will not end here if the driver himself/herself does not control or handle their vehicles well.

I agreed that there are some stage accidents but if the driver is experience to keep a proper distance between vehicles, he/she should be a safe driver .... [drivingcar]

Just looking at the brand/make does not tell you anything and won't make any sense.

How would you compare say a Subaru R1 with reckless driver and a Nissan GT-R with a safe driver ? Once, I encountered a reckless driver squeezing into the middle of two lanes at high speed. My stereotype mind tells me it must be a reckless rugged racer, but as I drive past the car, I noticed it's a petite young lady in a basic Myvi 1.3. Also unlikely modded or supercharged as she couldn't keep up with other cars once the traffic clears up -- assuming she was in such a hurry, she would try to catch up.

Insurance companies look at a certain profile .. age of driver, track record, make AND model, years of driving experience, etc. Some insurance companies may even look at education level, social profile . For example, in the U.S., if you are a member of a recognized professional association you get a discount, even if it is unrelated to motoring, e.c. science society, rotary club.

no matter how many such treads being created, it will always ended up with the same results. perception takes control for most. it was once the red hatch civic with red cap on the driver head that always in a rush, and now the young chap in a rex that always in a rush. Till the next mass "rusher" appeared, these 2 brands will always, i repeat ALWAYS, being targeted. Till then, 3 brands.

i have overheard before.

they say. the faster they drive, the faster they reach, the more customers they can fetch in the same time

The faster they drive, the faster they die and the faster they die, the faster the other slow taxis make more money.
