Jamesc Hypersonic February 11, 2018 Share February 11, 2018 hi, i understand the banks & Singapore Mints do charge a levy for converting coins to notes. Are there any ways to do it for free? After all these are legal tender! i got around 2k of coins, it's a habit of mine. BFF please don't smash the piggy bank.

Fcw75 Hypersonic February 11, 2018 Share February 11, 2018 you can try asking those newspapers sellers at bus stop or hawkers. I tried but not many wanted, this year no choice I deposited into POSB. You used the coin deposit machine? They charged $12 per 1000 pieces. not sure if Singapore mint still takes in coins.. Can try give them a call.. Else those vendors that dispense $1 coins at auto laundry would love to take in $1 How much in total amount? SIngapore mint doesn't anymore. 50kg of $1 coins...hahaha. About $8000 I guess. Icedbs Turbocharged February 11, 2018 Share February 11, 2018 I have few bags of coins, from 1cents to $1. They weigh easily near to 3-5kg each. I did use the DBS coin machine to change all my 50 cents bag and it came to about $200. I just want to test that machine. Very noisy when counting, but it works. Icedbs Turbocharged February 11, 2018 Share February 11, 2018 But it’s $0.012 charge per piece right? Yes, but I don't mind for the convenience. Afterall, the cost of that machine and the software behind it has to be paid for. But perhaps not very worth it for depositing 5 cents coin.
