Hensony Clutched September 20, 2011 Share September 20, 2011 Hi I understand some cars need to undergo a pre-delivery inspection (PDI) before they are delivered to the customers. I understand that PDI takes about a week to complete. Can anyone explain why it take so long? What does PDI entail? I understand that some, if not all, Conti cars undergo PDI before the cars are collected by the customers. Does this practice extend to the Japanese and Korean cars? Please enlighten. Thanks ↡ Advertisement

SimonTan 2nd Gear September 20, 2011 Share September 20, 2011 It only comes about when PI started importing in cars. All of a sudden....there is the PDI that is so important that few PI can do only AD with proper computers and skills can do.
Satria_neo Clutched September 20, 2011 Share September 20, 2011 Hmm.... I don't know much about PDI but from what I have read about "lemon" cars, I don't think PDI is really effective.
Eyke Supercharged September 20, 2011 Share September 20, 2011 as the name implies, it involves inspecting (and preparing) the car to ensure that it is ready for delivery, eg. installing number plates, IU, solar film, etc, optional equipment, no scratches. how long is dependent on many factors: what is inspected, volume of cars to be PDI'ed, etc. but one week is quite long... Forhod Clutched September 20, 2011 Share September 20, 2011 P.D.I. just wax the car, check the oil & fluids....install I.U.,the most is 4 hours job... Where you get such infos from? Is this from a PI workshop? Anyway.. PDI Is very important for new cars as it is to prepare the car to go to the new owner happily. You don't expect all cars come out from the factory to be flawless and fault free. One of the few most time consuming things are the leather seats (if locally fitted) and the solar films. The car is subjected to other various check like dents or scratches on the paintwork, fluids.. any mechanical or electrical faults (if got faults, they have to rectify them asap.. polishing.. etc.. And they don't do only 1 car.. so usually PDI takes about 1 week. You won't want them to rush and deliver the new car to you sloppily.. then right after you collect the car, you return to the AD next day to complain faults. AudreyYang-Photo Neutral Newbie April 18, 2019 Share April 18, 2019 My sales inform me that front agile has problem during PDI. They can only offer change front axil. Is it right?

Do you mean front axle? seems an issue I cannot accept on a new car. If the car has not been registered, request for a change. ↡ Advertisement
