Mini Cooper queries

Thanks!

I've always thought mini were RWD. Haha!

Are they on Macpherson strut / multi link setup or double wishbone all round?

Thanks in advance. You're the mini & E39 expert. So asking you won't go wrong.

I no expert la

Front Macpherson strut. Rear multi link.

With long wheelbase (as proportion to car length), Mini takes corner almost like AWD.

I can imagine, with its short overhang, it'll be almost like go kart if it's RWD.

There's interest in this car suddenly. Haha! Dunno why.

It is nice to drive around city or NSH.

Should get Cooper S. 2L turbo on small body is awesome.

For myself yes. For the other half... It's point A to B. So it's pointless.

oic.

Maybe Mini Cooper D better choice

What is the difference between MC D and MC besides better fuel consumption? MC D is 9k more than MC.

Both engine is the same except 1 is petrol & 1 is diesel.

Cooper is under Cat B.  That's why it is cheaper.

Going thru their website, I realize. The diff is cat A and cat B. And fuel consumption for D seems to be much lower, at least on paper.

BUT,... MC co2 emission at 115g/km gets CEV rebate of 10k, whereas MCD co2 emission at 103g/km gets 15k CEV rebate. Yet MCD is 9k more while OMV diff only 1k. Seems like MC is a better buy.

Any recommendations for good places for:

- making minor modifications such as installing K&N filters

- roof decals

Thanks!

Roof decals can be done in Johnson.  Google for it.

I don't recommend K&N filter especially CAI.  With CAI, the engine will suck in hot air.

I am using Codewerx every now & then.  Look for Tony if you need any mechanical mod or coding.

MC makes more sense now.

If COE stays like this.

Even if cat A & B cost the same.

10k Coe also cannot buy one, minis need 50% deposit, other than the one which is 40%.

To a certain extent, current F series interior is not as beautiful as R series.

By the way, what do you mean by not so stunning?

Owned a MCS convertible previously, unforgettable experience despite it's pre-BMW SC engine and typical subpar british fit and finish. Had to move on for increasing family size.

Targetting the MCS JCW as my mid-life crisis car in 1-2 years time especially when I don't have to pay so much COE.

:D
