Happily1986 5th Gear November 22, 2012 Share November 22, 2012 think not just semi con. generally electronics all quite bad now... even those like solar also badly hit. because i can cite reasons why AMD and GloFlo is doing badly. AMD: problems with its Bulldozer microarchitecture (low power computing) was deemed to be a failure. problems with 28nm process. Wichita and Krishna both entrants in Bulldozer was scrapped. The delay in its 2012 roadmap was catastrophic. Now it is focusing efforts on the low power replacement microarchitecture, Piledriver. No news on Hondo, which was meant to have been AMD's answer to tablet solutions. Windows 8 has already launched so where the hell is Hondo? GloFlo: AMD decided to shift its 28nm business to TSMC rather than remain at GloFLo. Reported issues with 28nm process.
