think not just semi con.

generally electronics all quite bad now...

even those like solar also badly hit.

because i can cite reasons why AMD and GloFlo is doing badly.

AMD:

problems with its Bulldozer microarchitecture (low power computing) was deemed to be a failure. problems with 28nm process. Wichita and Krishna both entrants in Bulldozer was scrapped. The delay in its 2012 roadmap was catastrophic. Now it is focusing efforts on the low power replacement microarchitecture, Piledriver. No news on Hondo, which was meant to have been AMD's answer to tablet solutions. Windows 8 has already launched so where the hell is Hondo?

GloFlo:

AMD decided to shift its 28nm business to TSMC rather than remain at GloFLo. Reported issues with 28nm process.

AMD..... soon becoming yesteryear's cyrix.... [laugh]

i hope it won't die off. i still want to see it bring out its x86 SoC. its CPUs are lightyears behind Intel but the onboard graphics offerings still trumps Intel's HD crap (reference to mobile offerings)
