I know that there have been layoffs at AMD Singapore and GloFlo Singapore but have you set your prognosis of the near term prospects of the entire industry just based on these two companies? Sometimes retrenchment also consider not bad esp if you have worked in that company for quite long. Retrenchment is no good if you work there less than 3 years. I guess you must be very good until they willing to wait so long. Usually new employer not willing to wait, esp if the position is a replacement. Recently i also called up for an interview, and after thinking i tell them i want to wait for bonus and dont want to waste time going down for interview. And after listening they like....
