Acevin Clutched September 15, 2011 Share September 15, 2011 (edited) Was thinking of getting a used (2nd hand) set of original enkei cps2 rims. As this model is very old, I presume the seller (that I had already found and touch base with) have used it for many many years as he say he use it for 2 cars already. The condition was quite satisfactory i.e. no kerb rash but slight scratches only... Before dealing will also get tyre shop to do a rotation to see if rim wrap... Wana ask is, as the rim is used for many years, will affect the condition e.g. integrity etc.? and can the rim be use for years to come? Also anyone here using old classic rims i.e. rims that been used for many many years already... Thanks.. I cannot comment about the durability of the rims after many years but it the rims were well look after, i believe that it should not have a problem. I had this same rim on my EK 1.5 VTI Civic before and i love this rim when I was using it. Light weight and easy to clean. In any case, there is always "risk" when buying second hand item but if the set is in good condition, I would recommend it. Acevin Clutched September 15, 2011 Author Share September 15, 2011 Thanks... In fact seen the condition over photos... Looks good as the seller claimed.. Cosmetic is ok... So I assume it should be taken care.. Only the integrity which in doubt..

So I assume it should be taken care.. Only the integrity which in doubt.. Main thing u sud b careful especially with old rims is they might have hairline cracks which eye cannot see or ty r bent tru going over pot-holes. Send to yr trusted tire shop to check n balance. Ty sud hv more experience checking them. I had a set of rims b4. Cannot balance properly n the shop say ty r warped n cannot do much. Avoid if ty hv some major faults cos when u go fast, the steering wil wobble n nothing can b done about it.

[/quote is the price casn and carry? for me i wont pay $100/rim 15" for such old rim even is perfect round 17" i can consider 1 issue just get your mech to spin on the balancing machine make sure is round before you commit. If you really love the rim go for it at your own wish.

Roberttan 5th Gear September 22, 2011 Share September 22, 2011 Reminds:before buy the rim must comfirm that is in good conditions this is always the issue we believe. Buying brand stuff you can always go back to vendor ask for reasonable explaination But if you are looking for 2nd stuff, from the shop at least you know where to go back to ask. If you got it over direct seller , how? you cant tell by visual and if got problem they probaly tell you I passed you it was perfectly OK. I heard of 1 case even more aggressive, this guy bought a set of 2nd hand rim from a tyre shop throught his fren and was told by the shop every thing original paint(this is what he wanted) in good condition, end up he felt vibration immediately after installation. later found out the rim repainted and 1 rim dented 1 rim badly dented He asked the shop , the answer he got is , i traded in from the previous car owner he said every thing is original. So this buyer guy lan lan.(paid near 1k ) but this car owner should ask the shop this question, I did not buy the rim from the previous owner but is from you
Iamtheone 1st Gear September 26, 2011 Share September 26, 2011 If the rims can be proper balanced during the installation, it should be alrite.
