My family and I went to Chervolet showroom today and was offered $100 999 gteed COE delivery before CNY. Was really tempted with the SE trying to break even my 5 year old car. Like the test drive decent power for an mpv. However I find the SE a bit pushy. But frankly speaking is the most value for money MPV.

Would like to ask fellow owners here about the car with full load? Upslope ok? Any issues to highlight with this car? Cost of servicing ? If need to replace parts is it ex etc?

Thanks in advance ! :)

You may want to look for this group called Team OrlandoSG on FB. Can get feedback from the owners there. 100999 seem like a good deal. Maybe can see whether the SE is willing to give you more freebies.

Just sharing my experience with you here. I have managed to travel to Malaysia with 6 passengers (4 adults & 2 children), 2 mid size luggages and 2 small hand carry. The car has enough power.

What I love about this car is that it is spacious even for the rear end seat. Comparing to other MPVs of the same range, it could be one of the more spacious one. I am 5'10" and still can sit at the back with comfort. Cruise is another function I like.

I don't see any issue with up-slope so far. Cost of servicing is around the higher 200 plus. but they added in air-con cleaning on my 3rd service (20,000KM) which is strange since I never have that for my previous cars, there are extra charges for this.

Other consideration may be the entertainment system, if you intend to watch video on the LCD, the image is quite dark and brightness cannot be adjusted. You may also not be able to replace the entertainment system easily since the control is located on the door to the drawer.

There is an interesting feature which is rain detection, but I would prefer ambience sensor which is more useful.

I understand that the new batch does not come with side view mirror control. It would be good to request for this function included.

Just so so. Such things as tyre rotation and gps map update, you have to request, thenw they will do for you. They also try to sell you engine flushing even for a one year old car. Saying you should do it every servicing though not compulsory.

Hmmm... I did not know that wheel rotation is not included unless requested. The dealer of my previous car included wheel rotation.

My concern is the air-con maintenance which is chargeable upon my 20,000KM, it is not cheap. If this is to happen once every 20,000KM then it is really questionable.

Tire rotation is included. They always ask if I want to rotate my tires.

The map is updated upon request. Cos it's done by outside installers.

The head unit is changeable. Just need to have the right connection to aftermarket installers. You won't need alpine to update the map for u if u change it.

Not sure about what maintenance wrt aircon. But according to the schedule, they just change the aircon filter at every 20k interval.

Hi. I booked across the weekend too. Managed to push down and got the guaranteed COE at $99,500 deliver before CNY too.

The SE that served me was good. Not pushy too. Attitude also good.

Most ADs usually push out new model few months after it was launched in their home country but Alpine is so slow in rolling out the newer models here.

Having said that, $100,000 for a MPV of Orlando size is damn value for money  [thumbsup]

For the Cruze it will have a totally new 1.4T that makes 150hp and a heady 245NM of torque.

Malibu we will have a 250hp 2.0T and 8AT

There is no replacement Orlando in sight.

Heard that they need time to convert from left to right hand drive.

Yes. And frankly GM is not like the Japs nor Koreans, they do take much longer time to convert their selected models to RHD...

RHD market is just too small....almost all RHD markets were ex British colonies (Thailand and Japan excluded)

So once they are ready the cars will be ship over here

seems like the new chev 1.4T engine is either same or similar to the new astra 1.4T as well, but tuned higher.

am hoping the orlando gets the new engine too with carplay enabled HU.
