Alpine ask me to go down also. What is the downtime? able to fix within a day?

It was solved in less than 30 mins, before I had time to finish reading the newspapers in the customer lounge,

Having owned a Chevrolet before, I am quite happy with their performance other than higher FC. I was quite keen with this 7 seater but just wish to hear more advice.

Came across a 3 year old Orlando. Understand the COE then was $95K. What is the max I should pay for this car? I am sure the previous owner pays a bomb for it.

Chinese characters for mp3 songs? Oh yeah, i must ask them to install it at my next 10k servicing, since now it shows rubbish characters.

If the audio technician at Alpine is not able do it, you can call Ivan (his operations director) who is more knowledgeable about this problem to email you the system files to do it yourself.  He would give you the instructions on how you can copy new system files to the SD card and boot up with the patch and perform the updates.

Other than a heavy body which affects the fuel comsumption. I think orlando is ok.

3yr old orlando should be 1.8NA but with LT specs.

Hi guys just wondering what's your average fuel consumption for your Orlando? Both 1.4T and 1.8L?

I took delivery of a brand new Malibu though....  [laugh] Still the same family I guess hehe...

This is what I got for less than a week driving. approx 60% highway and 40% city.....

Can never figure out what was those protruding bar for. Also 'kena' a few times (previous car). Saved by roof spoiler. Maybe you can install one too. Anyway, is back window covered by insurance? How much is the repair cost?

Hi Matrix0405

I took the Alpine recommended AXA Insurance ... therefore covered. In fact the policy has an added feature which covers the solar film as well if the torn one was originally installed by a Chevy authorized distributor.. which in this case because it's a new car, it is.

Done at Alpine. Ivan has his staff located at alpine. Need less than 20mins.

The other problem recently I faced was the GPS locks very slow. Last time GPS almost lock instantly. Now very slow. Can take up to 10mins or more. Keep disconnected

I would say the figure is respectable given the size and engine capacity.

May be better than Camry....

My 1.6T car may not even return this figure.

Indeed is respectable from a 2.4L. Real figure should be about 11.9km/l.

Hi all,  just collected my Orlando this morning and feeling great about it.

I do knid of worry that the car is a little big to handle though.

Welcome to the Orlando family! It's a pretty nimble car.... so I would say that you would take to it in no time. =)

Mine is hitting about 8.7l/100km... I drive a 1.4l Orlando. About 70% highway and 30% city.

My ex-colleague drove a 2012 Orlando. Think he paid 139k for it. Personally, I would just go for a brand new Orlando as the 3year old one is high in paper value. Not worth getting unless the dealer is letting go to you at near paper value and you intend to scrap/sell in the short term.

I occasionally have to wait about a minute for the GPS to lock on when I exit my home's basement carpark but never have to wait if I start the GPS at any surface carparks.

However I recently got a scare when I was parked at Berjaya Times Square basement carpark in KL. The GPS could not lock on until almost 3 minutes later. I had to park at the roadside after exiting the carpark to wait for a signal before I can continue my journey.

I also noticed that when I drive in the dense roads of KL with many tall buildings in the surrounding, my GPS often get confused and say "recalculating" every now and then, making me equally confused in an unfamiliar foreign territory.

Tall building affects stallite signals which is why gps may go "crazy" in places like the cbd. The newer gps may be better but this is a common problem for an old garmin that i owned.

The GPS feels bad... I have a feeling its the damn hardware.

Till today I am still getting poor signals. Sometimes you need it, and it doesn't perform... not only does it affect your confidence... it ruins your mood to do anything, knowing you've bought a defective product.

Coupled with the foggy reverse cam... fk...

But "Stick and rudder" wise... the general driving is fine...

The problem might be limited to a few batches since the longest I had no signal under the sky was about 3 minutes when driving in a dense part of KL.  Have you tried to get them to swop your GPS unit?
