Thanks to all concerning the tips on  adjusting the GPS volume; will try it out!

Just did my first 1,000 km servicing. Rather surprised that the engineer told me that my FC will never improve (unlike what you guys mentioned here), i.e. now mine is 9.2 to 9.5 km/l for combined city/highway driving, it will stay that way forever.

But Peugoet's engineer, on the other hand, told my 3rd brother who bought a 308 that the FC will be poor in the initial stage until engine run-in.

Who should I trust? For me, it the FC did improve after my 10

For me, the FC did improve after my 10km service. theoretically, the oil in the engine should be mineral oil(thicker oil). At the 10km servicing, they should(I hope) change to those synthetic type(which is smoother or thinner).

Therefore the engine runs smoother and FC improves.

I could only get 550-600km before my 10k service. Now I can get more than 600km(I never tried to test the limit) with every full tank, But according the counter, the car can run for another 70km.

And now, I will be going for my 20km servicing next week. Hopes it remains this way. Anyway, I don't really bother about the FC cos its almost the same as my previous mazda. Kinda used to it.

Alpine not going to spray for you? How can the service center be so careless!

Who knows?  Ever heard of outside workshops aggravating accident damages in order to claim more from the insurers?  That's why the motor insurance industry in Singapore is consistently losing money.

Not saying that Alpine is being dishonest but In his case, they are claiming the windscreen repair costs from AXA.

You must be light-footed.  I can get more than 600 km per tank only twice in the past year that I owned the Orlando, excluding long trips on the NSHW.

They will respray for me. Trouble is have to go down again to do this.

Btw,  they outsource the work to another workshop.  Not done in Ubi.

Is there any courtesy car provided when your car goes for spray paint?

Not sure if this is common problem, but for the benefit of new or existing Orlando owners...

Yesterday I was driving on the highway... suddenly a "Code 82" appeared on my trip monitor...

(Something like this... pictures taken from google image; but is akin to actual situation...)

post-130523-0-85810300-1447988402.jpgpost-130523-0-19391500-1447988407.jpg

So I parked my car at the destination, and called the SC... The SA who spoke to me, said that I could either bring my vehicle in the next day to reset the OIL LEVEL SENSOR... or he could walk me through it over the phone.

Steps:

1) Place car to Park mode with handbrake engage (for safety)

2) Turn ignition key to 3/4 until engine light and Code82 appears.

3) Click on the "Menu" button once... you will see a "3 Set"

4) Click one more time... you will see a "Reset"

(Something like this... pictures taken from google image; but is akin to actual situation...)

post-130523-0-84596900-1447988410.jpg

5) Press and hold the reset button to reset oil sensor to 100

I have no qualms abt the whole process, i'm just puzzled as to the purpose of the Code82, since Engine Oil was changed at 10,000. This happened to me as i'm about 14,700KMs. (I thought the technicians should've reset the oil level sensor during tthe 10,000KM svc)

So it kinda freaked me out when I googled this before I called the SC; cos I had thought that there is a Engine Oil Leak.

+++
But after this incident, I can't help but ponder if the Oil Level Sensor is actually not a sensor at all, and there is no real purpose to it, since the SA claimed that this is no big issue, and you can just reset it on your own.

I have the voice recording for the call; in case anything happens. zzz

I am able to get 700km/tank consistently. But I admit, I very light footed and 80HW.

Sometimes the car behind me also fed up and overtook me and speed away.

I'm really amazed.  You can almost match the manufacturer's fuel consumption specs!!  What fuel grade do u pump?

BTW, what's 80HW?  You mean 80km/h?

I have yet to encounter this Code 82.  What I had experienced numerous times is that my gear went into "7" instead of "D" (as shown on the LED display) when we only have a 6-speed AT.

When that happens, I cannot shift over to the triptronic mode to drive like a manual car.  I have yet to complain as there are no other consequences but would bring it up in my coming 20K servicing.

I mean 80% highway. Usually I use AYE.

I use 95. Tried 98 initially. Did not notice improvement in FC. But realise 98 is smoothly in 1st to 2nd gear.

Occastionally my car jerk at 1st gear during move off or at very slow speed using 95.

What is this app that you used? For me so far, I'm just depending on the onboard computer to tell me my FC. Able to achieve 8.8l/100km for the past 3 pumps..... but prefer to use something more accurate.

Just got my car a few day and I experience the same jerk or slow speed in 1st gear. I just did my 1st full tank pump using 95. May switch to shell 98 for the next tank and see how it goes. Any one have the same feel with their cars?

I use android app FuelLog. The onscreen one will give me 6.9L/100km while I calculated is 7.4L/km=13.5km/l

Hi, I was told by salesman to use 98 fuel for the first 3 months for the new car. Didn't experience any jerks.

So far now, the jerk issue is very rare. Only afew times I encounter it. I have been pumping 95 now.
