I did paint protection tat was offered by George from A**GT. It does looks good but don't expect the paint protection to prevent stone chip though. It makes washing easier for me.

You should try and ask your SE if he can get a in-car camera installed for you. This way, they can connect it internally instead of you connecting it to the cig socket. It won't void the warranty too of they install it.

Hi Ken,

What is the price they quoted you for paint protection? As i understand it is not that cheap.

Some please i asked range from $350 to $450 for H9 glass coating which have 3 yrs warranty.

Hi Guys,

Some advise needed. My red ride came with ""grey" color roof rack instead of black.

SE told me that they spray it grey, but i did not request for it. Do you think it is nicer in black?

Actually can I ask them to replace it back to black?

Hi,

I did my paint protection at Lucky Car Polish which is very near Alpine Motors. You can PM me for more information.

You can also ask your SE to install the car camera for you at a cost. The recommended camera by their authorised technician is the iRoad v7 or v9.

Anyone has recommendation for armrest? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.

For the latest batch, the third row socket is missing as shown below.

The airbag disable can be accessed through the glovebox?
I thought it will be at the side of the front panel like it was shown in the manual?

That small round plastic thing you see in your picture should be the cover for the third row socket.  Pull it off and see if the socket is installed in your car.

I also did not find the front passenger airbag disable switch as shown in the manual.

I signed up for a paint protection package at Tough Guard at Rivervale mall. Did 3 times already and I'm pleased with the results.

Went to Foon Audio to do up my car camera. Got the Iroad V7 dual channel one. Day time recording is very good, but night or dark places is not very good. Good thing is that it has built in auto cut off should battery voltage falls below a preset limit. Price is not the cheapest around, but for noobs like me, I prefer to go for a more reputable one.

A warm welcome to all our new Orlando Kakis. I have been enjoying my drive for the last 8 months. Last Saturday evening, I went to the Big Box in Jurong East and brought a 26" Mountain Bike and to my surprise, I am able to put in the whole bike without dismantling any parts into the cabin with the middle 2 seats portion down. My maid is still able to seat in the middle row with one seat up. I was prepared to take out the front wheel of the bike when I reach the car park but decided to try putting in the whole bike. It went in easily and still have lots of space for my groceries . [thumbsup] .

Our Orlando can be turn into a mini van when the needs arise. [:p]

Dear all, I need some help/recommendation here.

I've been using the following Nokia phone mount for years. This is more for me to check messages while at traffic light junctions:

car-windscreen-mount-holder-for-nokia-mo

However, perhaps because I've used it for many years already, its suction power isn't strong anymore (maybe owing to rubber elasticity), leading to very frequent dropping down. This is dangerous because if it obstructs my brake pedal, that's it.

As I don't want to buy cheap ones (esp those brand-less China makes) because these were worse, do you have any recommendation of a good one? I paid more than $30 for the above and thus I don't mind this kind of pricing.

A lot of good stuff are brand less and cheap nowadays. Anyway, you can consider this:

It's less than $10.

Yes. It does seem to be on the high side.

The black roof rack are for the white colored Orlando. The rest of the colors have the grey roof rack by default.

If you haven't collected your keys, you can try to get your SE to get it changed to black for(if he/she willing to work). I only knew about the changing part after I met my ex-colleague who asked his SE to get it changed foc when he booked the car.

I didn't like the grey roof rack so I got it spray painted at a workshop for $100+.

The whole set cost more than $500 if uou get the black roof rack from alpine motors.

Spray-paint the roof rails?  You could also consider vinyl wrapping of the parts as it is less intrusive and reversible.

In the Americas, MPVs like the Orlando are actually called mini-vans. I occasionally carry my foldable bike and a couple of my kids' bikes or scooters in my Orlando with just the 3rd row seats folded.  No problem at all.

However, the largest item I had ever carried in my Orlando was a 61-keys digital piano, its piano bench and a trolley and yet managed to fit 4 people in all with the 2nd row of seats partially up.  This would never have been possible in my previous sedans.  The piano looks like this :

I am using the iRoad V9 car camera. functions and clarity are still acceptable for the price.

Will be looking around for Alarm System. Can anyone recommend?

Sorry for the wrong info, I remembered that I asked my SE about this when he handed over the car on collection day.
I remembered when I asked him about this... and also where the OBD was ... he told me that the airbag lock is located in (or maybe i mishead; near) the glovebox; and the latter located under the driver dashboard.

I didn't ask him to show me where the airbag switch was... cos for my Golf7 (I was familiar with this function).

I Just checked, there is no switch for my Orlando~ Anyway sorry for the sala info.

As Maverick bro mentioned, maybe can try to pull off if there is a cover?

For Camera~

I am using but would advice against iROAD!
The phone-pairing just sux.

I would recommend Think-ware, my brother has it, and it pairs well with any phone. (but its slightly more expensive)

++++
BTW I also install rear camera, because nowadays alot of tail-gaters. They see my camera blue light, they stay far far...

Talking about Minivan... Thought this might interest some...

Last week I was caught in an uncalled for situation, one of my staff was on MC, and I had to move some office documents to the storage warehouse urgently... each box measures 40x40x50.

post-130523-0-49915300-1446178363.png

At the end of the day, I was able to move comfortably a whopping 16boxes (30kg each) + 2 Trollies 15kg each; with all rear seats folded flat, and a Passenger.

All these while still having power to drive comfortably and climb slopes up the industrial warehouse carpark, without any suspension issue.

I have to admit, this kinda amazed many people. Orlando really proves itself to be a reliable workhorse.
