Really glad to see more and more Orlando coming out on our road. Saw an Orlando near Sembawang Park 1036 Restaurant car park on Sat evening. Was wondering does it belong to any of our kakis here. [wave]

Really heng! COE results out - all up again! Managed to purchase my ride at not only COE's historical low (ever since my Epica total loss accident last Nov), but also Orlando's historical low. Must really visit my religious site to show appreciation and thankfulness!

hi there, sorry to follow up a question with regards to this, 1st time car buyer for a new car.

if we have already agreed on a price with the AD, for simple example, $100,000. and they proceed with COE bidding.

Shouldn't we be happier if the COE goes up? since now 100K gets you more paper value.

just trying to understand things here.

If COE diff too much, AD will simply reject the bid; since for most of us is 6 bid non-guaranteed.

Discovered one new feature.

REAR fog lamp only activates when FRONT has been switched on

The color of Burnt Coconut can be seen here in this Dubai Chevrolet website:  http://ae-en.chevroletarabia.com/cars/cruze-2016/vehicle-configurator-sedan.html#color

It might be similar to another GM brand Buick's Toasted Coconut as seen here:

No, it is not even a 2015 model change.  These facelifted front/back lights first appeared in Chevrolet Korea's website around July 2014.

More than 1 year later, we still do not have them in the cars shipped to Singapore.

Discovered one new feature.

REAR fog lamp only activates when FRONT has been switched on

I discovered another new feature only recently. Besides being able to raise or lower the headrests, we can also push the front headrest forward closer to our heads or move it backwards depending on how comfortable we want it to be,

From a Chevrolet Orlando user manual I found online.  See page 33:  http://www.chevrolet.co.uk/pdf/manuals/om_orlando_kta-8401_1-en_eu_my14_ed0713_8_en_gb_SI_LHD_online.pdf

Distance adjustment:  Pull the head restraint forward, it engages in several positions. To automatically bring into rear position, pull head restraint close forward.

Thanks for sharing this useful user manual here (though I'll be getting it tomorrow)!

I noted that it says it does have Automated Headlights. But my SE says it doesn't have (but only GPS, reverse camera, Cruise Control and rear air-con vent, etc.). So can I confirm (with existing owners here) if our Orlando has the Automated Headlights feature?

On another note, I have confirmed that the following safety features are included in our Orlando:

1. Anti-Brake System (ABS)

2. Traction Control System (TCS)

3. Electronic Stability System (ESS)

4. Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

5. Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA)

The Automated Headlights was only available in the previous 1.8L Orlando LT that was phased out.  Our 1.4L Turbo Orlando LS does not have them.

I installed my own automatic headlight kit with light sensor:  http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-automatic-headlight-Sensor-switch-for-Chevrolet-Cruze-Aveo-Malibu-New-Regal-Free-shipping/2009791577.html

Bro, Orlando braking system is quite good.

However, you may find the car in general a little oversteered. (good for U-turning; as its quite easy to negotiate one with the added advantage of a better turning radius) ... But I find it still a little oversteered at higher speeds; but not to the extend of feeling numb.

The stock steering wheel is cmi... you'll most probably end up wrapping (with w/e that is good) it sooner or later.

Thanks for all the info. I'm hoping the turning radius to be better than the epica's. I used to wrap my epica's steering w a biege colour matching leather wheel but wife insisted that i removed it (which i did), as it became too big for her to steer.

Anyway collecting my ride today, too excited!

Just collect my ride this morning and enjoying every moment.

Can anyone tell me if the original alarm system is secure enough to go JB.

Or I must equip with better. Any recommendation?

Thanks [thumbsup]

I bought from taobao, sent to my friend in China, then he hand carried to SG.

But my colleague used to buy from taobao and the item will be delivered to SG directly through taobao platform.

So how to go about buying from Taobao?

Sorry man, my CL2 sucks

Kuanhui, you also collected your ride today like me? Oh I could have bumped into you just now!

BTW I'm very pleased with the Orlando on a lot of things - the heavy weight, sturdiness and stability, the handling, steering is good too (didn't feel the "over-steer" bit); interior lighting is nice too!

When my mum saw it, her complaint is "too big" and yet the boot space is "too small". But I proved her wrong after placing successfully all her bags of NTUC grocery in the boot WITHOUT having to lower any of the rear seats!

I also like the multitasking feature of listening to music while performing navigation. And the best part is the GPS software/map is the one I had been using (Morbella) - so it is double happiness for me because not only am I familiar with its operations, this is by far the GPS system I've come across!

I've one question - can the LED number display in blue (depicting our mileage and odometer) be changed to indicate our speed instead?

However, after having driven a 2.0L inline-6 Epica for close to 7 years, I find that some aspects in the driving of the "supposedly less premium/luxurious" Orlando are as follows:

1. No left-tilting mirror while reversing. But I guess this is "compensated" by the reverse camera.

2. No electric driver seat. Every adjustment has to be manual.

3. The fan speed for the air-con: Epica is almost continuous (i.e. 1 to 20), but Orlando is more discrete at only 8 speeds.

Last but not least, I find that the air-con is not as powerful as other brand's (same thing for my former Epica and Optra). Do you guys feel the same?

You can buy from world.taobao.com as they would send the items to Singapore.  I normally buy from another China site called aliexpress.com which is in English and sometimes "Chinglish".

Another English site is www.ebay.com which also has also a lot of Korean sellers of original OEM items for the Orlando.

The built-in alarm system that uses the car's horn should be good enough as it is integrated fully with our RFID security key fob.

However, when I am in Malaysia, I would take extra precautions such as parking head-in and using a steering wheel lock.

I'm OK with the aircon.  Even my 3rd row passengers have no complaints about it.

For the LED display, it can be changed to display your average speed and FC.
