Check with you guys, does anyone here use those vertical casement aircon at your home? (ACE, Carrier, Sanyo,Techno) I wanted to know if my sliding window got 2 piece, when I installed the aircon, can both panel fully slide behind the aircon when the aircon is not in use and I want to access the window?

Thanks.

N [laugh] . The aircon stick into and out of the room. The window pane can only abut the air con. No infront no behind.

Change to 3 piece loh

Har? What no front, no behind?? [confused]

it depends on whether there is additional water drainage piping behind the casement aircon..if there is then u cannot slide..2 or 3 panels is not the issue

No water drainage... I'm not sure when the bracket being secured to the window frame outer track, there's still enough clearance for the inner window panel to slide over or not.

My window size only allowed 2 piece panel [:(]

1 panel should not be able to slide..but the other one should be able to..best to check with the installer

Installer say can, the window contractor says cannot... both contradicts....

Cos the current window is a casement window (push-out type) and the aircon installer put a plywood to cover the big gap because the aircon is smaller than the other one piece of window.

So I was thinking of change the whole window to sliding, but if sliding window cannot push back both panel behind the aircon and access the window (to hang out clothes) then it defeat the purpose as well. Yes it's a small window in the upgraded extra room.

I just took the pic here.

Can anybody home with sliding window help me to confirm something... my home no sliding window.

The gap btw the frame and the panel, can slip a 20cents coins in it? Especially at the corner of the panel where it is thicker.

As you can see from the pic, the aircon frame is as thick as a 20cents coin.

Thanks.

I don't really understand your question but i've been using a window unit for 15 yrs.

For my sliding window and aircon, it is possible to slide the window behind the aircon but i dun know y u would want to do so.

Because my small window got two panel only, and I need to access the window to hang out my clothes where the poles are.... and if the window cannot fully slide behind the aircon, means the window can be only open 1/3 which is too small to squeeze out to hang cloithes [:)]
