Any advice please....I am looking at B180 from CnC  vs VW Passat.  When in the showroom, respective sales person would talk about how great theirs and how bad the others.  This really confused me and the reason i'm comparing B180 vs Passat is because the price are quite close, nvm about the MPV or sedan.  However, some questions did catch my attentions and like some owners for advice.

Questions got me thinking by respective sales ppl..

1. You sure you want VW, their car have problems

2. VW should compare with E class, ABC class cant even match up, and VW is cheaper than them.

3. B class is over priced and make in south Africa, A and B are just owning the brand, if you want Merc, go E lah

4. B need indent lah, Passat ex-stock for you.

5. You can compare VW with us, only BM can match up.

6. You see we have so many VW on the road, we are best selling, you wont regret.

Oh gosh...thanks!!!

You sound like a VW salesman to me. Trying to sell VW here huh ?  :yuush:  :yuush:

Anyway VW is NEVER a premium brand. It is a German (possibly not even German) Toyota LESS all the reliability.

For me, a Merc or even a Toyota is a no brainer. :a-bang:  :a-bang:

If u are looking for badge, get that B class la. [drivingcar]  [drivingcar]

Just some touch up on info:

1. Passat at most compared with C-Class in term of size, in terms of premium materials used, C Class way over Passat, You can just go and sit inside the cars to compare. But in terms of pricing, Passat will be compared with B-Class instead.

2. B Class is made in Germany factory, not South Africa. That is C Class.

3. Internal size: B Class wins over Passat definitely, B Class has even a larger interior than C Class.

4. Only reason why so many VW on the road is they are cheap and rather fast. Nothing is about their reliability and materials used. In fact most VW are sold away just before their warranty expires.

Many thanks for all bros advise.  Yes, that what I felt too when I tested B class, the interior and drive comfort was beyond words.  I do admit the seat for Passat is good, but I don't like the dashboard....just look so square. [:p] Now is clear to me that B is what I want.

Did you consider BMW 2 Active Tourer? It's diesel though.

my friend bought the B class.

Leg room seems good in the rear albeit u have to seat upstraight, less reclining compared to sedans. Front dashboard looks good.

And the rear suspension doesn't sound like it's an independent suspension to help get a flat rear floor.

For no.1, have you looked at the new Passat as well? The B180 is pretty poorly equipped as well, and it's not really all that well crafted inside unlike the C-Class.

3. The Passat is much longer overall, its passenger space is longer... but I guess the B-Class' boxy shape makes carrying tall items easier and has more headroom.

4. I agree with this, Volkswagen SG was very aggressive in pricing and marketing in the last few years before the transmission issues cropped up... getting a reasonably well made looking and feeling conti car with that much power and equipment for that sort of price attracted many people...

New chassis{MQB} so what -_- .?Only lighter, tougher & VW make this floorpan so that many models can share it [:)] ,old Chassis no problem at all,the main problematic,7 speeds DSG still unchanged, any confident.?Just saw a new Passat broke down....most likely DSG,will Chassis breakdown.?Won't.!

i did consider BM 2 Active Tourer, quite impressive to me with all the built-in features, but i was never offer a test drive.  Unlike CnC and VW, they are keen and friendly.  my previous ride was scraped late last year, so no trade-in and SE seem not interested in my queries. :TT_TT:

Can you share the best prromotion package you got from B180 ?

I don't have any car to trade-in, so was only given service credit 4k, 6 pickup service, 6 dent remover, front/back camera, car mat, car grooming package and some discount on AIG which I don't really like it.

Anyone know if the B180 has keyless entry?

Not as standard package but can be indented. If not wrong should cost about $1900.

You can check with your SE.

But please note keyless entry is NOT equal to keyless startup.

I got the answer too.

B180 has keyless to startup but still need press the carkey to unlock the car.
