Be sincere! Do away with the Pay And Pay image! No, this is not a welfare state but do take care of the old, poor and the sickly (not doing enough)! Abolish GRC system go for a single ward elections hence only the most competent will survive. Allow the citizens to choose their own MPs!

GRC = Gangsters-Rob-Citizens of our rights to elect more decent candidates (not Phey Yew Kwok, Wee Toon Boon, Teh Cheng Wan...).

little Lee should just list down exactly how miw wants to change, item by item and put a timeline.... no more wishy-washy talks... enough is enough

come to think of it, if not becoz of his surname, he would have been ousted long ago by his own colleagues, let alone the voters

i have no problem with him as a person, but as the leader, he gotta show more to justify the position he holds for so long

I believe Gangsters-Rob-Citizens off our rights to vote the better candidates.

Most PAP members may not run in Aljunied GRC: Zainul

Former senior minister of state Zainul Abidin Rasheed wrote in the latest issue of PAP magazine Petir, that many PAP members may not want to contest in the Aljunied GRC in future elections.

He said that while it was 'too early to say' if the PAP can offer a better team for the Aljunied ward in the next election, 'it is likely that many will shy from being possible future sacrificial lambs by standing in Aljunied.'

The Straits Times reported that Mr Zainul, who was part of the PAP team that lost to Workers' Party (WP) in the May 7 General Election, noted that his team's defeat has shown that 'national issues and national politics have taken centre stage'.

Programmes outlined by the PAP to improve residents' lives did not hold sway in the Aljunied GRC ward. Instead, voters swung towards the WP with its championing of a 'First World Parliament', and their call for a credible opposition presence in Parliament and a more listening government.

Mr Zainul, along with former foreign minister George Yeo, then minister in the Prime Minister's Office Lim Hwee Hua, PAP veteran Cynthia Phua and newcomer Ong Ye Kung, was defeated by WP when the latter won 54.7 per cent of votes in the five-member GRC. It was the first time an opposition won a group representation constituency.

But he also added that if PAP had won in Aljunied, the party would have taken 86 out of 87 seats in Parliament, even though the opposition had received about 40 per cent of the national vote. He noted that 'most Singaporeans, including many who voted PAP, would probably be unhappy'.

Going by the way Zainul said

So sorry, if you just arrived here. PA is a sub of the PAP. The government is managed by the ruling party: PAP.

But do remember they never really opening admit it, they still state that they are politically non affiliated, although they should work close to the government, but the recent replies sounds a little different from what they state to me, rather not just me, quite alot of people.

Lip service? How many non-PAP Members inside PA, if any?

From this chap's responses so far, it is quite clear that they are going to carry on the same arrogance style in governance, maybe not in your face type but requesting their line MPs to go around convincing the ground to help them spread the word as in the way it was done in our parents' generation.

All the immigration aka FT policy, strive-at-all-cost-for-economy policy and others which have created resentment prior to the recent GE will be re-packaged and continue to be practiced whether you like it or not.

Just look at his reponse on the role of the PA which he is the sitting Chairman. He deemed that there was nothing wrong for the PA to have been doing things the way it was doing in the past and even defended it by saying it is akin to ministries where the civil servants are neutral parties even though their top dog is a minister.

Let us all be clear about it in the event some are still delusional about leopards changing it's spots due to changing times because it will not.

When all those long-term plannings mature into chronic issues, how sure can they be about themselves?

anyway yesterday young lee just reiterate the stand that PA will only work with PAP personnels because only they can work with government.

he say he vetted and approved the reply by communication director of PA.
