My mercilee last time also like this. Had the alert in the dash to show low coolant. Immediately I pulled into a carpark and waited for a tow. The temps had not yet risen.

Planning a genting trip in March 25 with 7 pax. Milage at 125k Km now. 
 

For the Dq250 GB, whats the lifespan like ? Cannot imagine breaking down with a 8 month old and 3.5 year old on the NS highway. 
 

On a side note, just replaced the water/ coolant pump on the 17 Sharan. Got hit with the EPC error and car went into limo mode.

Look out for coolant and hose leakage. Prepared to only get 8 to 8.5 km per litre.
