Am finally selling my Sharan as well (as I'll be posted overseas). Never thought I would since I've never been able to find another 7-seater quite like this one. It's been 1 of the best rides our family has had so far and nothing else comes quite as close in terms of comfort, power, utility.

Never had any major issues with it so far other than the usual wear and tear components and the occasional oil leaks.

Had greatly benefitted from the candid sharing from Carbon82, Presea and the other folks on this forum. (had made my initial purchase decision based on their reviews). Thanks guys!

Am parting out my rims (custom forged 18" @ 9kg per rim), do PM me if anyone is keen, happy to share the link to the ad.

May have to check the coolant hose for leakage and air con fan coil. My Sharan has this 2 problems after 5.5 years.

Bought a 7 year old Sharan.

Did EO & Transmission Oil change.
Coolant & Turbo hose replaced due to leaks.
Battery replaced.

just to check with the current sharan owners. Does your radiator cooling fan stay on for abit after you shut off the engine ? Seems to be something my Sharan is doing once in awhile.

Congrats. Sharan is a good workhorse. [thumbsup]

It is normal for the fan to stay on for a while after the engine is switched off, especially after a long drive or if you have whack the car hard.

Thanks for the advice.

I dont experience this on my 22 Tiguan 2.0 hence was a little worried. 🥲. Was wondering if the coolant needed to be top off or the radiator wasn't dissipating the heat properly.

Workhorse indeed. It’s really easy to spin the wheels though. Treads are still fresh last i checked. 😂

Wah tiguan to sharan…

not many sharan owners left in mcf

The fan will continue running for a while when the engine is still hot after shut down.  But also depends on the state of the car battery…

😬😅

From a digital cluster to an analog one. 😄
Got the sharan as a short term drive. A chance to experience a proper 7 seater and sliding doors.

Am impressed with the space and practicality.

Had to source for aftermarket cargo cover and netting though. The previous owner didnt have them.🥲

Hope you got the horn headrests for the built in child seats if you have kids to ferry around other than the tonneau cover

Other accessories not very useful I feel

Yup. Got the 2x headrest.

The other USP for me were the 5x isofix and the adjustable individual seats. Surprised that VW did not bring these over to the updated ID Buzz for which they are asking for 315k.

Hi Sifus,

The Sharan has been a great drive in terms of power, space and practicality. However, for the past few days, there has been a strong smell of petrol from the exhaust occasionally whenever i start the car.

Dr Google suggests the fuel mixture is running rich. Any sifus here had this issue and how did you rectify it ?

TIA!!

I hope you are not suspecting too much as it may not be a real problem. When cold start, the ecu will ensure richer fuel to air mix ratio until the engine is warmed up, it might not necessarily a problem to smell fuel during cold start. Did you see the consumption of L/KM go up ?  That could be an indication of leak.

Fuel consumption is around 10-12L per 100km. 30% highway. I would say its within expectation for the EA888. 😂

Dont have this cold start issue with my 22 Tiguan 2.0 though. Thats why i am a little concerned. Assuming a leak, do we expect any christmas lights on the dash ?

Thanks for the advice though!
