Civic6228 6th Gear September 3, 2011 Share September 3, 2011 In the above situation, i will accelerate harder towards that BMW. I will take the chance that the driver will siam my car. Worst case, i get a new car. Lose your life and get new car ..... what is more valuable ? Your life or the car ? The best is to avoid to get into accident as it will be a lose-lose situation. One can have whatever reason if you rear end the car in front of you, you are at fault. ↡ Advertisement

Nzy Twincharged September 4, 2011 Share September 4, 2011 (edited) I have make my choice clear. What would u do if there is a vehicle coming head on? Jam brakes as hard as possible. If got time to check that no car beside me then I swerve also. As I have a car camera, I will then send the video footage to TP. Seems like either you think you are superman and can't die or you don't mind to die as long as got new car can already. Doubt you have ever been in this kind of situation before to be able to make this kind of comment. Edited September 4, 2011 by Nzy

Civic6228 6th Gear September 4, 2011 Share September 4, 2011 I have make my choice clear. What would u do if there is a vehicle coming head on? Well, I will definitely "not accelerate harder towards the BMW" ...... I will slam my brake to avoid a "head on" collision. It is better to be rear ended under the circumstances... Even though u got car camera, as long as no accident, police will not care. FYI, i have skidded b4 on peddle road driving towards oncoming vehicle. Mnphosis 1st Gear September 4, 2011 Share September 4, 2011 It's the f--king van's fault! I also encountered a similar incident. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. The van moved into my lane so abruptly without signaling that the corner of my car bumped into his. In this case, the insurance company will hold both parties liable unless you have a witness to testify for you. Otherwise, it will be impossible to prove that it is the fault of the other guy. It will be your words against his. But if you have the video, I'm pretty sure that the insurance company will penalize the van instead of you. Damage to the car aside, the safety of you and your family members are of the utmost importance. My blood always boils when I encounter this kind of drivers on the road. What the f--k is going through their minds? Do they think they own the roads? I wish that big trucks will charge forth from behind when they are pulling such stunts. Either scare the s--t out of their pants or crush down into minced meat. one sentence. these ppl have no cultivation. All selfish and acting by thinking of themselves only, never spare a thought for others.
Nzy Twincharged September 4, 2011 Share September 4, 2011 haha..if the video camera is still around after the head on crash.. If the video camera is damaged badly enough you can't even retrieve the memory card to get the footage I guess getting the footage will be the least of your worries already. lol. The slower the speed of the impact the higher chance of survival. What if the guy traveling towards you is going at 50km/h and you are traveling at 50km/h also? If you continue to speed up it will equal to you hitting something at more than 100km/h head on. If you have car camera the police will definitely summon the guy for traveling against traffic. Submitted a video of a driver taking shortcut in a one way road by traveling against the flow of traffic. The TP replied saying they have looked into the matter and the guy got 6 demerit points. Icedbs Turbocharged September 4, 2011 Share September 4, 2011 (edited) To this stupid P Plate van at CTE today, either you go retake your driving license or you you have missed the 7th month mono intake... I am driving home with my wife and my two years old kid back from Mount Alvernia as my son is very sick for two days..U nearly make my whole family gone by crashing to the incoming car from my right lane. This is very common. To me, this is a non-issue. I faced such scenario at least half a dozen times a day. And I won't even horn. Most cab drivers like to pull this stunt. Just try to drive River Valley road during peak hours and you will get at least 3-4 times of such drivers. IMO, TS need to anticipate your drive. If you look at the video again, his intention to cut out is quite obvious (look at his wheels swaying towards the divider line) even when the TS car is about 20-30m behind. At that time, TS should have slowed down. Trying to horn and overtake the van is even more dangerous because you will take away your focus on the incoming traffic on the right of your car. To me, I feel TS is just trying to go all way out to claim his right of way. Driving is not about your right of way, but about anticipating other drivers not giving your right of way. I followed this motto for the last 15 years and I never had an accident nor the need to horn anyone more than 3 times a year. Best of all, I enjoy my drive because I think of it differently! Bro, that van is an idiot to have done that. But do you know that you are also an idiot to have swung to the next lane?! The kangoo driver which you almost hit must have felt the same way you felt with the van driver. I suggest you retake your driving licence too. At times like this, you should do an emergency brake. Not swing to the next lane. Be angry all you want with what i am saying but what is say is not wrong at all. I have encountered similar misses like ur before but i always do an e-brake. Pchmj Clutched September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 Adding on, if TS want to overtake from right, at least accelerate once filtered to that lane. It's dangerous to suddenly cut into the next lane and slow down. Imagine the traffic behind, may cause others to accident instead. TS is very self-centered... PaiKia-Lee 1st Gear September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 Its quite obvious drivers such as the TS are the causes of many many accidents on the roads, not the van drivers. From the video a seasoned driver would have noticed that the van driver is comtemplating switching lanes. The TS, I believe, is clear on this but insist on his right of way, resulting on TS car "Swerving" to the right and almost hitting an innocent third party car. We must always give and take on the road. If people cut u off, sua and breath deeply and your life will be better.. if not, u will die of heart attack on the road anytime
