King_of_abalone Clutched September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 garing=not safe (by LTA) stock DRLs are tested thats y allowed. go check onemotoring. Ok then what about switching on headlights in the day? It is as good as DRLs. If i am not wrong, it is compulsory in Canada and Germany or something. ↡ Advertisement
Acemundo Supercharged September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 He was in wrong, but it also looks like you were kinda slow to anitcipate what he was doing... kind of reminded me of my beign harrassed by aggressor in my case for his own refusal to switch lane or slow down earlier. don't mean ts is the same though. it is jsut that lots of people expect others to cater to them. Mrpega Neutral Newbie September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 i think some cars or vans when you observe them for some time from behind you will have the hunch that he will tut stunt one..this "instinct" has saved me many times..haha..fellow drivers have exp the same before? :p
Aimnfire 4th Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 if ts swerve and crash into the eurovan that might lead to serious injuries to other party ts can be charge for dangerous driving even though it may not be entirely his fault
Kenomi 2nd Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 To this stupid P Plate van at CTE today, either you go retake your driving license or you you have missed the 7th month mono intake... I am driving home with my wife and my two years old kid back from Mount Alvernia as my son is very sick for two days..U nearly make my whole family gone by crashing to the incoming car from my right lane. Is true is his fault. Should have take note that he is preparing to come out given the distance apart. Is rather dangerous act u did by changing lane to avoid him. Should E-Brake instead. PSP415 Supersonic September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 This is unfortunately a very common situation. Personally experienced a few myself and despite flashing lights and horning to warn tat dey are close to makg me do an e-brake, some buggers like kena zombie disease and will totally ignore e danger dey pose and continue SLOWLY cutting into yr lane....as though dey are carefully doing e lane switch. U knw, at times like these, I belong to e on-the-spot "creative" group of ppl who tink it a gd idea to hv an auto sniper or indiana jones' whip or a huge hammer to shock/whip/knock some sense in e driver's head and hopefully some "headlights" in his brain will help him drive more carefully. Keep a safe distance where possible + best to anticipate e worse stunts tat can happen...practise defensive driving can save lives, esp around such no-signal-last-minute stunts...if these nt careful, someday soon, their blood will join e tar of our roads. Safe ride Cheers

Nf0rc3r 1st Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 (edited) I am sorry but instead of braking when he cut into your lane u decide to accelerate and horn and cut into other lane? And u say ur family was in the car? What is wrong with u man.. Given the speed u definitely had enough time to slow down and give way to him but u chose the singaporean way. inlinesix Hypersonic September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 Actually, u r not so right also because it sounds like u nvr check ur blind spot b4 swerve to the right. If i m in ur position, i wll jam brake & hold my horn. I will make sure the van speed up or retract back.to the left. I will always like to horn. Fastfive1 5th Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 Something similar happened to me this morning when i was travelling along ubi. Out of the blue a white mercedes e class convertible decided to filter into my lane from the right, but the front of my car was already very near his ass. When i saw the guy eating into my lane i braked and tapped the horn and the guy went back into his lane and filtered into my lane after i had passed. Funny thing is that after entering the middle lane, he went back to the extreme right lane and turned at the next junction. Think he should have stayed in his lane rather than moving to the center only to move back to the right later, it wasn't as if cars on the right were moving slowly. A5SB 1st Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 Very very very common..... And cabs love to do that....... Some cabbies drive like they are baiting you to crash into them, so they get a paid holiday on your expense. Just my own prejudice, but I always drive defensively assuming the worst of people. Nicholassoong Neutral Newbie September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 It's the f--king van's fault! I also encountered a similar incident. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. The van moved into my lane so abruptly without signaling that the corner of my car bumped into his. In this case, the insurance company will hold both parties liable unless you have a witness to testify for you. Otherwise, it will be impossible to prove that it is the fault of the other guy. It will be your words against his. But if you have the video, I'm pretty sure that the insurance company will penalize the van instead of you. Damage to the car aside, the safety of you and your family members are of the utmost importance. My blood always boils when I encounter this kind of drivers on the road. What the f--k is going through their minds? Do they think they own the roads? I wish that big trucks will charge forth from behind when they are pulling such stunts. Either scare the s--t out of their pants or crush down into minced meat.

Gdspd08 2nd Gear September 1, 2011 Author Share September 1, 2011 (edited) Actually, I did check my rear and saw the eurovan coming quite fast. I did brake and horn at the van. I take the risk since there is no car beside me and hope that the eurovan can brake in time. If I step on ebrake, most prob the van may hit me liao. Thanks for everyone concern and comments. I know I also at fault and I can really take all the advise from u all. Now my family is ok. A lesson will be learnt. I have 3 accidents on my previous car before (without my family) and so I know how it feel. By the way, my car have daylight running LED install and it was lighted all the time. Thanks once again.
