SimonTan 2nd Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 Wah you very heng. That euro van on your right lucky never hit you. I think that euro van also will be telling his friend, about his close shaved with TS car. And might be cursing TS for cutting into his lane and almost causing a crash. Aeromania 1st Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 Van drivers have to literally stick their head out of the window to check blind spot so maybe he really din see you. But on the other hand that's not an excuse to just chiong out of lane la quite irresponsible. Drive safe.
Rainman 1st Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 To this stupid P Plate van at CTE today, either you go retake your driving license or you you have missed the 7th month mono intake... I am driving home with my wife and my two years old kid back from Mount Alvernia as my son is very sick for two days..U nearly make my whole family gone by crashing to the incoming car from my right lane. From the video I saw u swerving ur car to the right lane while avoiding a van from cutting from ur left, thus the van who seemed to be going straight swerved and overtook u, rather than what u had said? Care to explain?
Vhtfhwlego Supercharged September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 He was in wrong, but it also looks like you were kinda slow to anitcipate what he was doing... First reaction is to avoid but is wrong. If that TS had paid attention to this surroundings at all times, he will not move out from his own lane and would had brake to avoid. U shud have crashed in him and claim him or jam brake.. Rather than u swerve and the van beside u crash into u, u are at a losing end...
Hamburger Hypersonic September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 He was in wrong, but it also looks like you were kinda slow to anitcipate what he was doing... King_of_abalone Clutched September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 He was in wrong, but it also looks like you were kinda slow to anitcipate what he was doing... His boy was sick and he was probably just trying to concentrating on driving straight and observing basic road rules, not anticipating this kind of sudden stunt manoeuver from the stupid van. This is why i am a champion for switching on headlights even in the day. LTA should make all vehicles in Singapore install daytime running lights or at least compulsory to switch on headlights 24/7, like they do in certain countries. If that TS had paid attention to this surroundings at all times, he will not move out from his own lane and would had brake to avoid. From the video, i thought it was too late to brake. It was either he hits the van cutting into his lane, or take a chance and swerve.

Satria_neo Clutched September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 I agreed though. What TS did is not exactly appropriate considering there is a van on the other lane (I believe he took evasive action to avoid TS). Thus even if TS wants to change lane to avoid, should still look first. I can understand because I face such situations several times already. Veh changing lanes w/o looking. Thus I have learn to anticipate and look around me.
King_of_abalone Clutched September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 Very very very common..... And cabs love to do that....... Driving daily on jalan besar, serangoon road, kallang road, your responses will be sharpened by these cab drivers who do that all the time. Now i just anticipate what the guys in the lanes either side of me are going to do and get read to brake... 9/10 time i would be right.... But that 1/10 time might kill me. At least people know there is a car coming in the next lane and not suka suka shoot out like that. LTA should consider that.
