Ghostami 2nd Gear August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 Makan my tpt allowance (non-CPF contribution hence underdeclared) while I was in ICT. Makan my "oversea allowance" as he paid me LOCAL tpt allowance but made me drive to KL for annual meeting. Makan our team commission as he said that last few months never hit target.. But part of all, commission only $30.... 6 months later, I was promoted from Sales Executive to Business Development and demoted in salary as tpt allowance being removed. 2 months later, I got headhunted and set up my own department within a 10m company. 3 other colleagues left after 4 months, setting up their own SME and we join venture. And at the same time, the company got into trouble and had to crease operations. And he had set up his own again with 2 more competitiors. His boat finally sank and he became a housing agent. Then government step in for housing agencies to be control and he got himself out of job again. Currently, he is in his 40s and unable to find one stable job for the last 20months already... Looks like lady luck shine on you , Wondering when will she smile on me...

Rb1623m Clutched August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 Recently advertised for an assistant position with N/O level qualification. 99% of applicants are Pinoy and Indians with Degree. Some with MBA. Hardly any locals applying. Want to give priority to locals also no takers.
Vhtfhwlego Supercharged August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 Looks like lady luck shine on you , Wondering when will she smile on me... Got greedy, set up own SME with someone whom is very experience in my field.... He is 64 ages old with 4 listed company (over 700pax) and I am street smart knowing the current local market.... Both of us got conned by FT and company burst in 4 months... Then I was out of job and jump into another industry with a lower salary... But it was an eye opener looking how different company/background manage customer/supplier.

Even those with lousy N/O levels would have "upgraded" to ITE Certs or private institutions certifications. Maybe you should specify Diploma, ITE Certs, etc.
Greatbirdlegend 1st Gear September 1, 2011 Share September 1, 2011 My current company doesn't even have a FT/FW... When I cannot find a replacement for a jr position and they did asked me whether I would go for FW... Boss intercom me to ask "how do you think of a poiny" and my reply to him was "you got lobang for cheap thrills meh???" And I found a slightly more expensive fresh grad but I am happy that I got him. Same policy. My junior positions are all Singaporeans and when an opening comes up it goes to the staff groomed internally to move up. My policy is to only hire foreign talents that have skills that cannot be developed internally and hard to find externally.
