Can give a background of why they celebrate this day?

What is the fasting all about

What is the celebrating about?

What started it and how it will end.

Thanks.

You sure you are Sgeans or FTs ? this also dunno ? must go find from Wiki ?

wah lau eh...

I'm a pure bred Singaporean Muslim who's just giving out simple search information for others who are willing to ask for it. I'm sure the information found on wikipedia is layman enough for others to understand.

Thanks and enjoy the public holiday tomorrow.

Fasting is all about the five pillars of of islam...

1) say the syahadah

2) solah aka as the five time a day prayers

3) is the fasting

4) is the zakat ( in layman term its the tax in islam)

5) is the haj

Other than that, it is said in the Quran that, we are ask to fast same as the one before us. And our Prophet teach us how.. That is from dawn till dust. And we have to fast for 1 islamic month. From the birth of new moon till the nex new moon.

Its is also proven scientifically that fasting helps our body to rejuvenate from a year of none stop of eating..

As for the celebrating, we are celebrating the purenest of oneself after the month of ramadan for those who ask for forgiveness from God.

Our Prophet also teach us to visit our relatives and friends on the day of the eid... And when we receive guest, we celebrate them with providing food and welcoming them...

On the eid which means clean from sins, we are encourage to seek forgiveness from our family, friends and whom we have hurt before...

Theres where, maaf zahir dan batin comes about.. It means forgive me physically and internally...

Hope this clarify them... If u wish to know more, u can always google it or wiki it..

Happy holidays...
