Baby chair + 2 door cars

1.4 seater is fine (doing that now). cant imagine 2+2, maybe the seat is sideway, I don't know.

2. you can always try put the seat in front and deactivate the airbag, but that's not the safest.

3. some convertible baby seat (can convert rear facing to front facing) need a fair bit of clearance when installed rear facing. I could only do that for my car if i pushed the front seat all the way to the front. So for the first year, i had to get a carrier type seat while my Britax Royale gather dust.

4. Also see if your car has inclined backseat. That probably makes positioning more awkward (and eat up more space).

5. for a front facing baby seat, putting the baby in and out is actually quite simple. you can do it from the passenger side.

6. it is true someone needs to sit behind with the kid, or there is some getting into and out of back seat of 2 door car, which be it kia or Bentley, is not as straightforward as a 4 door car.

Hey mate, just wanted to consult your views. When your wifey was carrying your child, were you cruising on a 2 door coupe? Or did you have a 2nd 4-door car?

My car is rather spacious as a 2-door, but the seats are kinda cumbersome and heavy. With all the complications to pregnancy like morn sickness, etc is a 2-door coupe coupe unsuitable for pregnancy?

Not having plans in the near future, but that would probably be one of the factors to consider for my next ride...

when my wife was pregnant with first child, i was driving the new Volvo S40.

when she was pregnant with second child, i was driving my 6er.

coupe is no problem unless it is so low which makes getting in and out a hassle

coupe will be quite inconvenient.

and also where do u plan to place the child seat?

if your kid is not able to walk, then you have to think how are u or your wife going to carry the kid in and out of the car(definitely very inconvenient)?

if your kid can walk but fall asleep in car when on the way back home, would u ask he/she to wake up or carry?

if carry, then you may feel quite cramp to get out from the rear.

but then,i think a convertible will help in this case.

just that more time consuming waiting for the top to be open.

Hi brothers,

I was just wondering, if it is possible to have a baby chair in a 2 door or a 2 door convertible. Thinking of switching to a another car, but need to find out first.

Is it possible in the first place, and if not, is it terribly inconvenient?

Can you share your experience?

Thanks in advance!

can fit why not

i would assume for yr setup the baby will be in the back seat...

but married with kids can buy 4 door vehicle

u just have to ensure that the 2 dr vehicle will have 4 seats

Neutral Newbie

Possible.. done it with a Group 0 infant seat in a 3dr 206 hatch and Group 2 seat in Mitsubishi 3000GT and Scirocco. Just a little inconvenience, that's all...

I guess yours are the higher end luxury coupes, which makes a difference in comfort.

My fatboy can be quite a bitch in terms of comfort haha [laugh]
