I like the i45's Rear and K5's front. :D

Hmm...I still prefer both the K5 front and rear if compare against i45. IMO, i45 is a bit too curvy for my liking.

Don't forget that you are actually paying almost $65k for COE.

You will be suprise to see more Hyundai or Kia on germany road compare to Japanese car and they are price similar to the japanese car.

Only in singapore people still think that nippon car is better than Kimchi.

more hyundai and kia because its cheaper and more affordable. infact i saw alot more new merc and bmw on the road and alot high end cars. with such high coe now buying a korean car makes one look stupid. first branding is not there and 2nd more options and higher spec just makes its a cheaper and lesser car. its good to be cheap but sometimes cheaper ppl will say your things not good. i do business one i know.

More BMW n merc might not bcos local perceiving them more of a worthy buy, it could be due to flooding of FT. Not to worry bout KIA high spec n quality as they hav 5 years warranty. I do business too, buying car in sillypore already stupid no matter the brand.

hi, Guys...

heard of the words/phrases.. "prejudice", "stereotyping", "closed mindset"...?

and many still have a "west is better" inferiority complex, i think.

ex-West has come a long way and passed West in many areas, but these tend to be ignored.

interestingly, the consumers in the west look to east for better, more reliable, better-value-for-$ products.

I guess it is our tax structure that makes kimchi cars look bad and conti cars look value for money. Of course, branding and imaging comes a long way with heavily investing in major sports events and advertising.

The perception that instill into asia consumer mindset from conti cars like BMW and Merc has always been high class, prestige and luxury. Whereas our Japs and Koreans are always cheap, affordable and basic finishing.

However, it will take some time for asia consumers to think otherwise. Time will tell

C&C must put more Optima on the roads.

Actually, quite a few people has ordered the K5 as compared to the previous Magentis isn't it? It's just that deliveries can't be met on time.

So don't fret, the K5 is selling really well, at $65k COE levels.

Mercedes and BMW will always sell, be it high or low price, because of the badge and the better quality of the car still.

Yes, you are right, BMW and Merc has branding but you have to pay a higher price for it. Fair enough. You get what you pay for.

For $150k what kind of car with branding can you get? None! Anyone who thinks that for $150k +/- you can get a branded car must be living in the past. Please, don't tell me cars like Camry, Accord, Teana has branding.

no offence but if one is driving a japanese/korean car, he will likely have the mindset as what you mentioned. if another person is driving german cars like audi merc bmw, he will have another sort of mindset. not trying to say which mindset is more correct but our surrounding and experience are v likely to shape and affect what and how we think. sometimes, people buy something, in order to console themselves and reinforce their purchase decisions, they tell themselves that product is good and better than others, using parameters that favour themselves again (can be from either camps of car buyers)

to me, one question remain.. if one is rich enough, will he still settle for kr/jp cars or german offerings?

therefore, it is very simple. money is the biggest deciding factor [cool]

(P.S i drive a cheap non-luxury german car)

but still, i love the KIA optima :D
