but no need la. Nothing to be ashamed of with the original brand.

 

we take a decision, eyes open and knowing the other options, to buy the car..., we stand by it.

 

I'd never regretted buying any one of those I bought over the years, and donlt think I will with the k5. [rolleyes]

 

cheers, guys... happy with our new president? now in retrospect, wonder if the certificates were given to allow a spoiler into the game.. just wondering la.. [confused]

did my solar film at Zen Services. windows and sunroof "sealed" for a couple days till the adhesive cures.

 

sunroof was cool (tried before putting the solar film.

 

ventilated seats ARE cool! decided to stick with the nexen's till they wear out... they probably make the car sound more powerful with their rumbles.

 

not the fastest car around, but good enough (so far)

 

car turned a few heads, both when parked and on the roads. [rolleyes]

 

happy, happy!.

The problem is still on most of the local car buyer mindset - korea car must be cheap. :wacko:

But they forget that modern korean car are as good or even better than their nippon competitor.

As I mention in another post, I am seeing more Hyundai/Kia on Germany road compare to Toyota/Honda as I visit there often. The price there is similar to the Japanese car.

singaporeans only want the car for show only, thats why most of the Camrys on the road are 2L not 2.4L, same for Mazda6. dont care power no power... big big can liao

Solar film (Zen).... fully cured. No complaints. A bit of heat still comes in through sunroof from hot afternoon sun, but can feel only about within 3" (80mm) from the glass.. OK!

 

PPS (Amazing Glaze).. just done. No washing for week or so to let it bond to paintwork. They found some fine scratches/lines that I didn't notice, and fixed.

 

Changed my mind on keeping stock tires after reading review and user feedback. Bit the bullet/wallet and swap to Sumitomo HTRZ III's. 225/45/R18 with original rims, spare remains stock.

 

Will re-install Nanopulser, air purifier, gps. (all these are recycled to save $$$!) [blush]

 

Looking to do side mirrors autofold, blackbox recorders.., and 3M mats from SE Louis (didn't insist but he still offered)

 

And that will be all...

 

Oh, the car is great so far. Averages 9.6l/100km (per computer) since it's picked up, and I'd pushed it time to time. If only... more ooomphy power, and a more huggy driver seat.

r u set on snow white (or is it pearl white?)?

 

u would have gotten ur coe already, i think. so valid for 6 months and then extendable for another 6 after, if need be..

 

did kia offer u a specific date/month for delivery? mine was like "late-Jul/Aug/Sept". if it's too long a wait and well beyond the timeline they promised, maybe u should ask ur SE to get you a discount off ur purchase price?

 

if u r doing an agreed price for trade-in to be transferred in exchange, and don't need the new car urgently, then maybe it doesn't hurt too much? u should, if possible, ask that kia meets any extra cost (roadtax, maintenance, etc)of ur retaining/using the trade-in longer coz they can'f deliver the k5 u ordered.

its snow white pearl. Ya gotten COE, and SE noted "late-Jul/Aug/Sept" too. Real Bugger man their September shipment only got two white. Sianz. [:(] [:(]

 

ur SE already confirmed u won't get ur ride this shipment? Maybe they r just tempering ur expectations in case they need to accommodate some other buyer who may have paid a higher price?

 

think to be fair, ur SE should give u a good and credible explanation... though i suspect it will be something like "beyond their control.., it's the Koreans and high demand..".

 

otherwise, they should "compensate" u in some way for the longer wait. It's straightforward customer service & PR management.

 

but chin-up, bro... one of the 2 may just be registered under ur name! ... and u'll have one of the really rare, smart looking rides among us... :)

Ya was told there's five/six other in front of me. So the two in September had been allocated. Its just matter of time they complete the back order in other countries since its was launched last Oct...almost one year liao still cant keep up with orders....

 

If written down delivery by "late-Jul/Aug/Sept" than its contract binding.

If Kia is struggling now with the Optima, then how about when the new Kia Rio Hatch and Sedan when it's launched? That'll probably sell more than the Optima!!!
