Speeding offense, when to appeal?

anyways if racing (more than 2 cars) is fine or/and jail term...

 

and as for TS the TP already said 18points so confirm wont suspend license EVEN if he get lawyer fight in court (which is stupid)...

The one I quoted is for 12 points, still got 18 and 24 categories which will be more serious. Purpose of posting that is to highlight no need to commit 24 points offense then will get suspension

yes i totally agree....give TS an allowance of 10kph 15kph MAX.....which is about 85....it is blatant speeding from the way i see it...

 

75 to 80 on a 60kph road...is ok but already pushing it

 

likewise 85 to 90kph on a 70kph road.....

 

anyway who drives at dead 60kph or 70kph on the roads...they normally exceed by 5km...or slower than the limit by 5kph...

 

but for TS 123kph on a 70kph road is blatant speeding...

 

anyway drive safe....

and ive seen vehicles and taxi drivers at 85kph or even 90kph on roads with a 60kph to 70kph speed limit...but that is another story all together

ya i agree....85kph or 90kph understandable...ive driven along that road...and do not go more than 75kph 80kph tops but rarely needed...normally its 75kph....

hence the tolerance enforcement limit...

 

but for TS its not 4pts 6pts but 12 points.....

 

4 pts is bad enough but 12 pts with a court letter is crazy

 

even if TS has the money and capability to get a Ferrari 430 or a Lamborghini Gallardo he can forget about driving one becos he has no licence if there is another case, such as beating a red light camera

Allowing a child below 8 years of age who is a front/rear passenger to be secured with an unapproved child restraint

Using a motor vehicle where a child below 8 years of age, who is a front/rear passenger is not properly secured by an approved child restraint when there is seat belt available for the use of such passenger

Parking within a Demerit Points No Parking Zone

Stopping within a Demerit Points No Stopping Zone

*

Parking abreast of another vehicle

*

Parking within a pedestrian crossing

*

Stopping at a zebra-crossing

*

Carrying passengers on goods vehicle without a permit

Conveying load not properly secured

*

Using tyre with ply or cord carcass exposed

 

In addition, a composition amount is imposed as follows:

 

Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below): S$120.00

Offences committed by motorists at a pedestrian crossing

 

1. Failing to give way to pedestrian at pedestrian crossing.

2. Unable to stop your vehicle before reaching a pedestrian crossing.

3. Failing to allow free and uninterrupted passage to pedestrian.

4. Failing to give way to pedestrian at controlled intersection.

 

* Careless driving.

* Carrying passengers on a goods vehicle in a dangerous manner.

* Carrying passengers on a motor vehicle or trailer in a dangerous manner.

* Reversing unnecessarily along an expressway.

 

In addition, a composition amount is imposed as follows:

 

Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below) : S$150.00

In addition, a composition amount is imposed as follows:

 

Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below) : S$200.00

Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg) : S$230.00

 

* Use of mobile telephone whilst driving.

 

The offenders may be prosecuted in court and disqualified from driving. The offender's handphone and SIM card may also be seized to facilitate investigation. These may be forfeited by the court upon conviction.

 

Court Penalties:

 

1st time offender- Fine not exceeding $1000.00 or jail sentence of up to 6 months or both.

2nd or subsequent conviction- Fine not exceeding $2000.00 or jail sentence of up to 12 months or both.

TS must have been driving a very powerful car to be able to accidentally slip 53kph over the speed limit. Even givung him 10% tolerance its still 46kph!

i've frens who got fined even exceeding 5km in Canada..... no excuse even if u r going downhill....

 

and at construction area, school area, playground area, if you exceed the speed limit, double points deducted....

 

so we are actually not too bad....
