Definition of Luxury Sedan

I was just taking a peek at SGCarMart.

3 cars that were laughably classified as "Luxury Sedans":

1. Chery A5

2. Mazda 3

3. Ssangyong Actyon

I guess there are too few categories. Large sedans are lumped together with luxury sedans.

These are not luxury cars nor luxury brands: Mazda 6, Chevrolet Epica, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Subaru Legacy.

My definition of luxury sedan has to be the high end model from the following brand.

1. BMW

2. Merc

3. Audi

4. Roll Royce (of course)

5. Bently

Maybe can make it to the list is Jaguar (XJ).

Poor man luxury.

Everyone knows luxury r like 5 series, A6 Audi not the china A series. Some like to name Mazda 3 as M3, which mislead others. Well, need to open yr eyes n not checking blindly.

Luxury sedans might not necessary means the brand is luxury.

Like VW is a BB car, but i wont say phanten is not a luxury sedan...

like a hotel suite, just because its 3 star doesnt mean its not a suite.

i don't find anything wrong with classifying cars like mazda 6, camry, accord and etc as luxury cars.

They are luxury cars of their own make. Luxury cars need not necessary be cars from those prestige brands like bmw, audi, mercedes and etc...

Nope, there is well accepted definition for "luxury" car. By advertising Chery as a luxury car can be treat as "Misleading Advertisemnt".

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Misleading Advertisements

Under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, it is an unfair practice for a retailer to make false or misleading claims.

Likewise, one of the general principles of the Singapore Code of Advertising Practice is that of truthful presentation.

From SCAP: II. General Principles 5. Truthful presentation:

5.1 Advertisements should not mislead in any way by inaccuracy, ambiguity, exaggeration, omission or otherwise. More specifically, advertisements should not:

Misrepresent any matter likely to influence consumers

Thanks [laugh]

Ssangyong did not really do well here at all. I remember going to the old showroom at Middle road a few years back. It was like.. damn empty. In SG , the only Ssangyong model that did well was the Musso. The rest.. well.. flopped.. Unless you include the taxi Stavic..

The Ssangyong Chairman looks too much like a Merc liao..
