Lionflyer Neutral Newbie August 20, 2011 Share August 20, 2011 As above. I bought some engine oil, (Amsoil) with intention to use in my next oil change. But a good packaged offer came along which I took it. I suppose I can keep it for the next oil change but is there any expiry date? ↡ Advertisement
Strudel- 1st Gear August 20, 2011 Share August 20, 2011 Call the supplier up and ask for shelf life. I doubt it'll expire that quick (even if there is an expiry date).

I suppose I can keep it for the next oil change but is there any expiry date? I keep unopened bottle of EO >1 year also no prob. Opened upto 1 year also can. If the oil does absorb moisture, the moisture wil b burned off when the EO gets hot in the engine. I heard pple keep unopened EO 5 years also. Anyway EO is very tough stuff. It sud not "spoil" so easily.

Lowel Clutched August 20, 2011 Share August 20, 2011 Don't worry. Unopened engine oil usually can last for >3 years shelf life. Once opened, better use it within 1 year.

Satria_neo Clutched August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 EO can last for a long time. 2-3yrs no problem.
WFME Neutral Newbie August 25, 2011 Share August 25, 2011 Official reply from Oil Companies is between 3-5 years under optimum conditions (ie, not under sun and room temperature). JUST NOTE: 3-5 years is from date of manufacture not the day you buy it. That's why some workshops and shops sells oil at a discount at times. Fu11thr0tt1e Turbocharged August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 Engine oil can be stored up to 7 yrs (in room temp) from the manufacturing date without any problem. ↡ Advertisement
