We hope everyone understands that we've had to remove a number of wall posts on our page. We encourage all our Facebook fans to be respectful to one another." In a phone call to AsiaOne, McDonald's clarified that the prayer call is not part of the company's initative, as they have a standard list of music and radio stations the restaurants are supposed to be using. A spokesperson said that based on feedback from netizens, it seems that the outlet had not adhered to this list. The outlet that played the prayer call has yet been identified. Since this is a restaurant after all, and it is the fasting month, I don't find anything wrong with it. This Mr Chang is ignorant of the fact and the significance of the prayer call in the evening during fasting month, hence his over-reaction. At least, I hope that's the case. I find that nowadays people are getting less and less tolerant - but out of ignorance, rather than outright malice or wanting everything to be "equal" - and also influx of foreigners unaware of local cultures. But for this Chang guy to shoot such sensitive matter on FB is really dumb.
