I do not agree that by being in opp camps means he is a betrayer to former boss...if you feel your boss has turned for the worse after you work for him for certain period, wouldn't you distance yourself from him and or even be critical of him if the ideals between you and him turn out to be very different? I don't see what he has done wrong just becos he is once a subordinate to GCT and has now joined the opp camp.

And he need to take how many years inorder to realize that they are not in the same frequency?

Just like when you interview someone whom you dont know, why do we do a reference check with his former employer?

Yeah.. I feel manufacturing cannot be face out.. if face out.. that's it.. Manufacturing in fact is quite important to Singapore growth also.. It need to strike a balance and not totally face out manufacturing..

problem is that they still insist in manufacturing be retained as one or the main engine of growth. In this current age of cost pressures being so prevalent, it is a doomed strategy.

If manufacturing is dependent on a large labour force then we will lose out, but if technology is used - eg robots, automation and more machinery than manpower maybe still got chance.

like that then we have to leave it as it is liao [laugh]

anyway, just make sure he go in with the lowest possible vote... we all know its likely a forgone case liao..

but mainthing is to let him go in with less than 50% vote.

i believe when that happen, it will send a signal to mr Lee.

yes, keep sending signals.....better than doing nothing [:)]

some organisations started off well, but along the way, they go 'astray'. Their members can see this over times. :o

Those members who cant agree with the changes will leave.

TCB wants to chase his ex-boss away from Istana [laugh]

Also, he may need to do spring cleaning to get rid of 12yrs' accumulation of stains

yeah, many speculated that to be the reason why the election committee is lax in interpreting the eligibility rules that TKL (NTUC is not a company) and Tan Jee Say (no 100m paid up company and not even fulfill the 5 year criteria) were handed the certificate of eligibiilty.

TCB qualified outright and they are worried about the straight fight for TT so might as well bring in 2 more to dilute TCB votes.

this 'tactics' may work this year in favor of miw's TT, but in future it may be hard to reject candidates with CVs which dont really qualify using KL & JS' cases as precedence... :o

Whoever become EP, I hope that person will not be like the drunkard & 'horny' one we had years ago. Really lost s'pore face.

That drunken+tiko was appointed, presumably 'hand-picked', right? many of the younger people here dont remember / have not really heard of this 'legend', well chosen by miw.

Out of curiosity, how would people rate SRN against these 4 contestants? [lipsrsealed]

he has done his best, so said the man himself.......... 12 long years have passed and few noticed what he's and has not done until recently............ :D

during GE TKL also helped sdp and tjs directly participate thru sdp.

i wish they have sat down and come to a consensus who to take part.

we all know pap supporters outnumber the others through the grassroots organization and unions. these proabably can account for 40% of votes already. tcb, tjs and tkl are conceding the seat to tt thru such infighting.

On a seperate note: the heat being felt now for the PE comes not only from having a 4-corner fight, but it's a manifestation of continued dissatisfaction with the ruling party despite the promises of change after 7 May this year.

Manufacturing also require lots of land to build the factories, with or without automation.

Do we have that large amount of land to spare for the next 20 years when there's a need for housing as well?

Automation cuts down on labour and with land shortage, how are we going to substain a large workforce or reliance on manufacturing?

his last 6 years was not what he wanted.

if you remember, he say he want to step down.. but PAP say no suitable candidates and "ask" him to stay for one more year.
