These 2 areas got no more state land big enough for the typical 1000 units type of EC. So HDB has to buy en bloc land at $3000-$4000 psf ppr. Plus the cost of construction? Add another $300-$400 psf ppr. Ok how much do you want HDB to sell these orchard and nassim ECs? Everybody has a right to stay there? Can, overthrow PAP and make this the communist republic of singapore. Btw, you sound like a Marxist conspirator. Be careful ah. u dont get it if you are poor that does not meant that you cannot enjoy things that the state can control like museum, where are are days that are free, so rich or poor can enjoy as for property why must poor be only given a choice of suburban areas in many developed countries the poor lives beside the rich please dont look down on the poor ↡ Advertisement

Besides, in many developed cities, it is the rich who live in suburban areas and the poor live in urban ghettos. Maybe during the cultural revolution in china, the ex-rich worked and lived in the same coal mines as the poor. It's not a case of looking down on the poor. In fact, there's nothing of that sort here. It's just a plain simple case of a person with unrealistic expectations... she'll have more chance of having here pime location residence buy trying her luck at Toto and winning the money to buy her preferred housing at prime location. HDB is suppose to be affordable to average Singaporean (low and middle class). if built in Nassim park and sell at 2 to 3 mill for an EC.... is that still consider a HDB?? HDB in redhill, holland V, Duxton etc these are prized location too ↡ Advertisement
