GR90 is for comfort while CSC5 is performance. If price is about the same, I will take CSC5. I feel that all BS tyre nows a day are all over price, maybe due to high japanese yen. Jolie888 Clutched August 6, 2011 Share August 6, 2011 Between the 2, I'd say CSC5. But wait. You will need to try the BS S001. It is tops for both dry and wet handling. Get the Made in Japan one. BS' premium tyre. S001 > RE050.

I was using the Michelin PS2 before (wear rate very high and wet grip was not great after some time) ... and prior to that, the Dunlop SP Sport 9000 and then the SP Sport 01A. SimonTan 2nd Gear August 10, 2011 Share August 10, 2011 Buy two of each? Both heart n head can compromise. Both are good tyres...so no mismatch.

Silklee 3rd Gear October 5, 2012 Share October 5, 2012 I recently changed from a 205/55/16 GR90 to a 215/45/17 CSC5. So thought of sharing my experience between the 2. Do keep in mind though of the fact that I am basing my comments on a relatively old 16 inch GR90 (having used it for 45k km and 2 year plus) vs a new (only 250km) 17 inch CSC5. In short, the CSC5 is a tad quieter and feels more comfortable. It feels more refined. When it rides over slight uneveness on the roads, it just gives a soft little thud. The GR90, however, seems to give a little bit better traction. On the GR90, it just seems that you can drive the car anyhow you like it to be and it will follow your instructions. I liken the GR90 to listen to rock music, whereas on the CSC5, you are listening to jazz. Hope that makes sense.
