Dear all,

I made a really silly mistake today. My car got rear-ended by a lady driver today. In my haste, i did not get the contact number of the driver. I do have her car plate number, her full name, IC number and date of birth. Any idea how i can get her contact number?

constructive comments please.

insurance co will send her a letter...informing her that u are claiming from her...

If it's a minor damage, would you still claim? I was just think if i should do my little tiny weeny part to help keep insurance costs for everyone lower..

I had the same thought when someone rear-ended me recently.

It's perfectly OK if the other party is gentlemen, otherwise be prepared to get "suan"/insulted instead.

My lesson learnt is, if you are rear-ended by private local vehicles:

- Take pictures;

- Take down/exchange particulars of driver;

- Remain silent (don't need to say anything or argue over anything);

- Report to your insurer within 24 hours or immediately for Aviva;

- Report police if injury or involve foreign or non-private vehicles or the other part refused to exchange particulars.

If the other party is willing to settle privately, he/she should call you (not the other way round).

Proceed to your w/s to do 3rd party claim if you did not receive any offer to privately settle it within 48 hours.
