Many jap cars owners also in workshop mod, clutch, ECU tuning, polish port, BBK, etc. It's definitely not a porsche issue. Many people like to spend whole weekend in workshop with their cars. Then of course, there are people who buy sports car like Porsche Boxster and wonder why family car like Legacy can zoom to the traffic light faster, and people who buy Swift Sports car and wonder why it's slower than a heavy family car like Cayenne. At the end of the day, it's just a car and PIE is only 26.6 miles long. Rich people buy and mod expensive cars. Normal people buy and mod cheaper cars.
