What kinds of sports is suitable for tiny Spore?

Land is expensive in SGP. Maybe sports which require the least square meter per player are more suitable as they take up less land?

A big soccer field only allow less than 30 players (including referees). Badminton takes up less space per player compared with soccer. Table tennis does even better than badminton. On the other hand, if we include the handcounts of spectators, soccer is not too bad.

Golf takes up lots of space per player. Fishing especially indoor ponds is not too space-consuming.

The best (ie least space) is computer games?

Talking about golf, even though MCF may have golfers, personally i feel for a tiny island, we have too many golf courses. Part of the land currently occupied by Laguna / Tanah Merah golf course was supposed to be used for a F1 track way back.

Seriously? Any activity that leads to panting and sweating is a sport, missionary or otherwise!

Jogging, running or similar..... no special space is needed for this sport.

plus points: can do it in group or alone, the equipment / gear is not expensive and no need maintenance [:)]

govt just announced yesterday they will try (again) to make sports part of our life..... will see how much success it will achieve this time.

most parents are concerned with their children's grades in school, and whether the actiities the children take part will help in securing a place in poly or uni, or help them in getting a good job later on.

plus weekends are filled with all kinda enrichment programmes for the children..

time left for sports is very limited although some parents push their children in tennis, swimming... that's about all.

in places like USA, AUS etc, we see the whole family support/cheer the kids on weekend on sports field, be it football, baseball, ..... sports and family activities merged well in these cultures.
