The Toyota Starlet EP80 was a classic 1.0L car which managed to survive for >20 years.

The Getz 1.1M is a very popular car here too. Am wondering if it is also able to survive for 20years, just like the Starlet.

Even the getz 1.1m can survive past 10 years, but due to the current super high COE, dont think you will see any car survive past 10 year mark. But you can still find able to find many getz on the road now as compared to picanto.

The Getz comes in the forms of 1.1L, 1.3L, 1.4L and 1.6L, but the Picanto only comes in 1.1L.

Hence, the population of Getz is more than the Picanto.

But perosnally, I would prefer Getz over Picanto for its space.

Just curious about the Chevrolet Aveo5-1.4M. How does this car compare with Getz? The price is not expensive but it looks like a Jazz.

Neutral Newbie

Driving auto pica now, 2 adults n 2 kids when family outing..

For me is quite alright la, can't expect too much for a 1.1L, if need more power such as overtaking, just press more accelerator.

Personally find that pica engine gets very hot..

However, boot space very small, if to put groceries is ok.

But if carry pram or luggage, may be not big enough. End up may need to place in passenger or rear seats. But then this will not be practical if whole family already in car,..hahaha..kind of an inconvenience imo..

U will always be wishing the boot space was bigger :(

Fc been getting in region of 11-12km/l.

Just make sure regular servicing like oil n oil filter change. I change air filter at every servicing cos this not expensive part, like $10?, but may improve or maintain fc..

Air con takes a while to cool, n for me change air con filter like every 6 months, does improve air flow a lot ...

how about Perodua Viva ??? consider it hahaha [wave]

Initially I considering Picanto also then suddenly saw a ads on this Viva then do a research which I finalized my choice and go for viva

I am driving for the pass 2 years ... i brought 2nd hand ...

what i like

1) 4 power window compare to 2 for pica

2) 2 Airbag compare to no airbag for pica

3) ABS compare to no ABS for pica

4) electronic side mirror adjustable and retractable compare to pica do it manually

3 cylinder only require 3 spark plug, 2.4Litre of engine oil .. power wise for Singapore no problem. drove up to Genting twice doing about 130km/h to 140km/h.

spare part widely available in malaysia .. changed original front brake pad for $30+ include both parts and labour.

overall good enough for me to travel around ....

Is a DVVT engine , using Daihasu engine which also from Toyota ... some of the part uses toyota parts. Hence, reliability is there

Lastly is the fuel at about 15+km/litre if light foot ... i tried once heavy foot for one tank and achieve about 13km/h (pick up and accerate faster)

Btw no offen to Pica owner cos each car have their own advantage .... [drivingcar]

HI.

Is picanto a reliable car? I am looking at proton savvy, sirion or even subaru impreze?

Yes it is super reliable. The build quality is probably better than the Savvy. Although the Impreza would be even better since it's one class up. No surprises there.
