Picanto or Getz.... Advise please...

But I am thinking of reliability, practical large body, and small reliable engine, plus many parts and accessories to source from MY.

go for the manual PICANTO. drove my bro's PICANTO 3 month while he gone overseas. power ok, fc very good, low maint cost. in Singapore, most of our journey is less than 30mins, can bear with lesser leg room.

Sigh, i was like you, thinking of hyundai getz or kia picanto, but after much research and advises for people, I'd say it's best not to get Getz or Picanto at this current market. They are supposed to be cheap buys but it becomes so expensive now! It's not worth it anymore!! Think twice..... If you die die must buy a car now, opt for toyota or honda i think.....thats what i concluded

I check sgmart recently...a lot of Getz are still selling close to paper value.

im driving a getz 1.3A now and I think the FC is still okay..11-12kml..averaging 11+km/l

 

but power wise gonna agree on you guys..its quite powerless..uphill even picanto can over take me..if most of the time only 1-2 ppl inside car still okay but if full load a bit jia lat.. :)

 

overall Getz is a decent car, lots of mods and interior quite roomy..can fold down back seat somemore..i used it to move my house..haha..

better braking. I remembered the insurance I paid was only $300 (SGB plate) after 55%. Spare parts also dirt

I agree with u on the brakes. I test driven the car 3 years ago, and the brakes were rather weak. I like it's bigger size compare to picanto although I find the picanto cuter. For tall folks, picanto is out. It's just too small to sit in comfortably and get a good open view of the road.

If u r very strict with ur budget and it's between the 2 cars, I think picanto is slightly better. It's cuter and it's rather reliable. But Seriously I don't think u will be comfortable in a picanto. With ur built u just feel squashed in this fella. Getz is better in this aspect. If u r taking a car loan, can consider to stretch ur budget a liitle to get something u like and can still meet ur driving needs for the near future. The difference could be only $50 or $100 a month. It may be more ex, but u get better equipped cars with higher paper/ resale value.

i owned a 1.1M for a few years.. IMO, this is a very decent point to point transport. just nice if you have a small family wth 1/2 kiddos.. enough storage space for short get aways in Msia. driven up to Genting and KL a few times before..

its a small car with a big heart... sold mine OPC last yr for $11k Dec 2006.

GETZ, PICANTO, or whatever. depends on one's budget. how much you're prepared to spend on transport. it's easy to say add $50/mth for GETZ, add $150 for TOYOTA, add $250 for HONDA, add $500 for AUDI, ... but ultimately it's still your $$$.

2. aircon coil short - $200+

3. Suspension - $600+

4. Auto gear box - $3K+ to overhaul

5. Car remote - $100+

Thank bro, am still weighing the option.... too bad no best of both/all world.... ... so got to sacrifice something..... $$$ is a concern of course... unless this coming Friday ho say.... then I cum here ask for advise whether to get BMW or Audi....
