Thats very true but its actually part of the same problem. The MIW have rigged the system. Whether its COE, CPF, ERP, Ministerial Salaries, Foreign Talent, Voting....all of it has been rigged so that what is decided and implemented finally only serves the minority interest of the MIW and not the citizens.

They are aware that the citizens are aware of this so they have embarked on a massive campaign to import FTs and make them citizens as these "FT Citizens" will surely vote for them...at least for the initial few years. But later on even these lot of new converts will see through the scam.

Again and again MIW sell the citizens the tag line that they made singapore what it is today. It could not be further from the truth, singapore achieved its success on the blood, sweat and sacrifices of the citizens. Singapore achieved this not because of the PAP but INSPITE OF THE PAP.

Look at all the horrendous policies that went wrong but were buried under the carpet by the PAP media, the "stop at 2" graduate mother scheme is just one e.g.. If you look back they contributed nothing and took everything for themselves.

Actually u cannot fully blame the 60%... A lot of ppl r playing their part for a change but still useless. In other countries, 60% vote mean only 60% miw ppl, 40% opp in the parliament, here still over 90% of them inside. Even next election they only get 30%, 20% vote, situation still the same. Its the system here. Pretty frustrating i muz say as we cannot do anything despite we vote wisely in every election.

U cant change a corrupt system from the inside. All the main arms of governance are in on the loot bag; Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, Parliament....its so well co-ordinated that they can pass laws to legitimise what would be blatant corruption in any country.

People complain about politicians in Indonesia and Malaysia etc receiving under the table pay-offs. Here in Singapore the million dollar ministers receive the same corruption money OVER THE TABLE and its all legitimised!!! IT IS MUCH MUCH WORSE. For this kinda corruption to take place all the arms of government have been tainted.

But everyone knows it is wrong. This goes back to the days of Hitler and the 3rd Riech where they pass laws killing of jews. Just because it is approved by a corrupt legislature or parliament does not make it morally right.

To attempt to change such a system from within, playing by their rules, will never happen. You end up with 90% of citizens all agreeing that our ministers are obscenely paid and yet the corruption continues. The only way the change will come is when the system is totally overhauled, and that can only come from a complete change in govt....which will also never happen...as the system prvents this.

Just look at this bogus committee to review ministerial salaries.....its so obvious its a wayang show. Gerald Ee is the same PAP yes man who successfully swept NKF scam under the table so everyone now has forgotten it. Now they are using this same guy to create the illusion that the salaries are reasonable.

The same issue with the 3 Presidential Candidates....ALL ARE STRONGLY CONNECTED TO PAP. Its going to be old wine in new bottle being served on the citizens.

by miw's doings, our system have been deformed and the result is what you have mentioned :D .......... the day will come when enough is enough, the people will find a way to change the system for the better, one way or another....

that said, yes, our vote is the only weapon we have, and if we use wisely it will be an effective one at that [thumbsup]

While other countries have corrupted / inefficient ruling parties, we have one that look / boast about how 'clean', 'blemishless', 'upright' they are with all sorts of 'legal' means and brutal eliminations of whoever dares raise a finger at them................ GDP result is only one part of nation building. Intentional and systematic brainwashing of citizens by the ruling party and claiming credits where they are not 100% due are not much better than traditional corruptions and abuse of powers.

Going down one level where you might understand, is that how companies operate? Like that who want to work in QC, HR, R&D, etc. All will want to work in Production or sales only where the big money is.

When governent collect revenue, got differentiation to where it can spend meh? Very funny opinion.

defence, education, health funtions serve and benefit the general public and therefore rightly should be funded by taxes collect from the gen public... eg income tax etc

but if such functions are funded by taxes collected from a specific group which is not related to defence/education/health (eg motorists, car owners), we wont say it is a fair deal.......... why should motorists support (indirectly) the general public?? looking forward to a convencing reply from you, my fren [:)]
